Sadly we found this restaurant on our last day in Vegas. We can’t even order big meals as we wouldn’t be able to finish or take with us.
Cathy and Alex were so friendly and helpful. Even though we’ve been to Filipino restaurants before, we still had questions.
Crispy Bulaklak – Deep fried pig intestine tossed in sea salt and black pepper – this was delicious and so crispy, it was like having popcorned intestines and so flavorful we didnt really need the sauce but it does enhance the taste
Bangusilog – Breaded boneless milkfish – so good, the fish was crispy outside and tender inside, the garlic rice was so good I would eat it everyday!
Would definitely come back next time we visit Vegas!
This location is huge which can accommodate large parties. I addition, they have Karaoke nights and Live Music so check them out.
Food:
Kare Kare
Lechon Kawali
Chicken Lumpia
All the dishes were delicious. Outstanding flavors. First we had the Shanghai Lumpia. I’ve never had chicken lumpia before so this was a surprise. It was actually really good. Next, I enjoyed the Kare Kare. I love that the vegetables were not overcooked and it’s placed on top of the meat. I just wish they had more Kare Kare sauce so I could take it home and eat more with rice. Lol. Lastly, the lechon Kawali that came with onions and tomatoes was amazing. It was cooked perfectly and the lechon sauce was yummy. One of my faves.
Overall a great dining experience. Everyone was so friendly and a special treat to meet Chef and Owner Mang Felix himself. He told us about his other restaurants he started which we enjoy going to also but we do want to try his latest Korean Filipino BBQ in Henderson.
——-Old Location—–
I was in the area, so we opted to dine at Mang Felix since we enjoyed eating at the Rainbow location. The restaurant is very nice. They have separate rooms for larger parties, and there’s a small stage too.
Mang Felix offers Vietnamese, Filipino, Chinese, and Hawaiian. The other location does not offer Hawaiian food.
Food:
Longsilog (Rice, Longanisa and Egg)
Island Favorite- Sweet & Sour Sparerib TIP
The longsilog is the same. Nothing stood out. The Spareribs had a good flavor, and I love that the cut were Rib tips. The flavor was ok.
Service was extremely slow. Another server stopped by to take our order. She mad either clear she was not our server but wanted to help since she saw us sitting there for a while without our server addressing us by stopping by our table. He eventually stopped by to reiterate what we ordered.
On my next visit, I’d stick with the filipino or Vietnames food.
It is an appetizer lunch day so we started with the chicken Lumpia Shanghai. It was cooked just to the correct golden brown and the flavors on point. Been some time now since I had good Lumpia. After starting with a high note, I find myself having the butter garlic chicken wings, okay. I’ve had other places that do really good chicken wings. This order was perfectly fried. The crunch was just right and the flavor was exactly what I expected. Then we moved on to my last appetizer and that’s the chicken lettuce wraps, I highly recommend you come here and try them yourself because it’s excellent in flavor texture and amount, The lettuce was fresh with a nice snap when you bite into the loaded leaf with chicken goodness. All the guest in the restaurant looked to be enjoying the cuisine and locations, I’m giving this place a top spot in my recommendation list.
Visited from Los Angeles because I was taken by a local. Can’t wait for a location to open up near me.
I highly recommend you make Mang Felix a stop while you’re visiting Las Vegas.
We ordered the Banguisitlog breakfast, Kare kare, Dinuguan, Pork Belly Sinigong, Pancit Bam-i, and finished with a must HALO HALO.
We were greeted immediately when we arrived. The staff was friendly, but when we pointed out that the Sisig was very salty, the comment was made that we were the only one that complained.
The rest of the food was good.
Huge menu.
