We had an amazing dinner at 855-Aloha from the Auntie’s Gay Gee crispy mushroom wontons, to the Miso Caesar salad, and Kalbi ribs- all delicious and then finished with the over the top Pinepple upside down mochi cake & the Haupia pie. This restaurant is a hidden gem – not to be missed. Laidback atmosphere, great servers and obviously a very talented kitchen staff and chef. Thank you Chef Brad and your friendly and attentive servers.

This restaurant is tucked away in the Romer House and has a super cool lounge vibe. The service was friendly and helpful and the food was delicious! They started us off with a tasty ube foam palate cleanser then we ordered the seafood pancake-Okonomiyake, kalbi short ribs, braised sweet potato and banana mango mochi cake. The flavors were balanced and deep and we left feeling extremely full and satisfied. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal at a cool spot!

I found 855 Aloha online and decided to give it a shot since it’s right in the heart of Waikīkī. The vibe looked amazing and the reviews were solid but wow, this place exceeded every expectation.

I lived on Oʻahu and have eaten at just about every restaurant more than once, and hands down this might be my new favorite. Everything, and I mean everything, was incredible. The ambience, the service, and the food were all flawless.

A special shoutout to China, our server, who was absolutely incredible and made the experience even better. If I could give this place 100 stars out of 5, I would.

I’m already going back tomorrow to celebrate my sister’s birthday. That should tell you everything.

The Godzilla rolls were really good a bit too much of mayo. The okonomiyaki is really good.
The ahi tuna tataki is excellent! Chicken karage was just ok, the short ribs were really good but a little bit too sweet imo. The shrimp tempura was not actually fried, it was more styr fried that deeps fried. The salmon poke was good a bit spicy for me.
Overall, you can have for your experience, 2-3 meals to share per person. You go to the restaurant more for the experience more than to be full. It is a bit overpriced for what it is tho.

We had a great meal here, the food was promptly served, the server had great recommendations and we loved all the dishes. Don’t forget the cocktails, they were very well balanced and sophisticated. The ambiance was upscale, I highly recommend this place, loved it!

Quaint and modern restaurant located a step away from the International Marketplace.

Service was friendly and attentive.

Food arrived timely and tried several items on the menu.

Flavors were a mix of modern and traditional. Portions may look small but with the prices being so affordable for many of the dishes, you can get full quite fast ordering a lot but not breaking the bank.

Definitely would bring friends and family here to experience good food away from the bustle of the Waikiki crowds. They also have a special gift for solo diners.

I almost passed on this place due to the funky name and the fact that it’s a hotel restaurant, but it really is a great fusion Izakaya, probably one of the best! Everything was well executed (except a few pieces of beef tongue), usually with some nice creative twists. Servers gave great recommendations (you could tell they did try the food personally). Price wasn’t high at all compared to other Izakayas, and they had some affordable, filling (and equally delicious!) dishes (best okonomiyaki I’ve had!).

Thursday evening, visited this new izakaya place located in Romer House Waikiki. It’s located on the ground floor, entrance right before the hotel reception area.
This restaurant doesn’t follow the standard japanese style interior that you see in other izakayas around hawaii. It’s more upscale and caters to tourist.
The restaurant interior appears to be more elegant, appears to have an outdoor garden (almost secret garden vibe), earthy concept with dimmly lit lighting, and has a romantic like atmosphere. Great for couples and groups to converse. Although no privacy, once side is the hotel hallway, the side fronts the street.
The music was all over the place…it didn’t match the environment. Later in the night, they had a live DJ playing.
Service was okay. They were on point in the beginning when we were the only group. However, the restaurant filled to half and they didn’t seem to keep up. We tried to wave them down a few times, felt like they ignored us. They also forgot our drinks (several times) throughout the night. But they apologizes and gave us free drinks for forgetting.
Also note, if you write a Google review and show it to them, the table gets 10% off the check…no matter good or bad the review.
Food is expensive and shareable. Most of the dishes were favorable, savory, and delicious…an upscale version of what you would see in an izakaya.
I really liked the senpai curry yakisoba, oko oko pancake, sho’s karaage, maki katsu, umami mushrooms, grilled eggplant, and beef tongue. Down side, the sizzling plate didn’t really sizzle, and some of the shareables like the scallop taki were only two pieces. Most of the shareables are sized for two maybe three people tops. Another thing, they do this table side wagyu cooking thing. It’s ridiculous considering how smokey it gets in the restaurant with no table ventilation in place.
For cocktails, the “ring ring ring” coffee whiskey was delicious. The “who you gonna call” yuzu honey toki whiskey one was not too bad.
Parking is valet only, first 3 hours are free with validation.

My husband and I celebrated a wonderful anniversary here. The atmosphere was very modern, moody, and chill. Great decor, and cool lighting.

The food was great – small plates style. All of the dishes were distinctly Japanese at the root with Hawaiian touches, and unique twists. We loved the karaage chicken, ahi Poké, skirt steak, yakisoba curry and sushi rolls. Cocktails were amazing as well!

Loved the service, everyone was super friendly! Would highly recommend.

Honestly my favorite place to eat and drink on the island by far. The food was great. I had the Kaarage which is made with boneless dark meat and delightfully crunchy. The grilled eggplant was smoky and creamy, and their yakko tofu was light but savory with a little kick. The “who you gonna call” cocktails along with the sorbetto and others I sampled are light tasting, refreshing and made strong. Ryan the bartender was excellent conversation and very attentive and the service from him and the rest of the waitstaff was quick. He has some serious knowledge of food and cocktails so I’m convinced he could make anything. The bar was the quietest atmosphere I’ve found so if you need a place to wind down catch it when they aren’t hosting an event because during those it will be packed. The entire facility was clean and modern, and they have artwork paying tribute to the landline telephone which is fun and a little nostalgic. It’s a place you could go to for a quick bite or drink but will want to linger in for much longer. The pricing is competitive for the area. I will definitely be back and would recommend it.
