Absolutely loved our experience at Black Bear Bread Co. in Seaside! From the moment we stepped in, the aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries set the tone for something special. The atmosphere is charming and relaxed — perfect for a casual breakfast, brunch, or coffee break while exploring 30A.
Every bite we tried was delicious. The pastries were fresh and flavorful, the bread was outstanding, and the coffee was rich and smooth — truly one of the best spots for coffee lovers in the area. The staff was friendly and efficient even during the morning rush, and despite a little line, the service moved quickly and made the whole visit worth it.
Whether you’re in town for vacation or just passing through Seaside, Black Bear is a must-visit for a delightful breakfast or snack.

Incredible breakfast! Eggs and bacon were . Black coffee was perfect. My only complaint it was the automatic 15% gratuity and didn’t even realize until I paid for it until I sat down. I would still go back but it felt unexpected.

The wait on a Sunday morning was about 30-40 minutes so prepare for that. I got the ham and cheese croissant and humming bird coffee. My coffee was really tasty but the croissant was mid, barely any ham just little chunks. I felt like I should have tried the other pastries that weren’t savory. Overall, not bad but not worth the wait.

The food here is very good, but the service and the people that work here are so extremely rude! I ordered a cold brew with light ice, which they did not do. Then they poured water in it. I asked them to not pour water in and this older woman came over and was shaking her head saying I should have ordered a cold shot instead and a cold brew has water in it. I have been to countless coffee shops and never in my life have I had a cold brew on draft have water poured into it. They didn’t fix it and they tried giving a small cup of their “cold shot” which was just their cold brew after I ordered a large. The woman was not accommodating and not hospitable what so ever. I ended up taking the large with water in it. To pay $10 for watered down coffee is horrific. Go to amavida! Their staff is so kind and accommodating and they have amazing coffee!! If you want horrible service and rude people black bear is the place for you. My family has had a house on seaside ave for the past 20 years. This is horrible to see. This is also not the first rude encounter I’ve had here.

This bakery is a gem that fits perfectly in a high-end beach town. The breakfast offerings are excellent with high quality ingredients. The pastries are fresh and delicious with many options. Almond croissant and breakfast sandwiches are delicious. And if you can go on a day they have rosemary olive bread, grab a loaf. It’s perfect sourdough with big chunks of kalamata and green olives and a good hint of rosemary, a must-try if you like olives. I wanted to be sure to comment on the food first since the tip situation has so many people mad that the reviews hardly mention it. The food deserves acknowledgement, and it’s amazing to have such a high quality bakery at the beach. Now about the cost and tips: after reading the reviews, I had almost decided not to try this place, but I’m glad I went anyway. It was so nice, I went back twice. I did not find the menu overpriced. It is what I’d expect for the quality of baked goods they serve and the location. You are in a high priced town; there’s no cheap anything, but I didn’t find their prices exorbitant. Auto gratuity has caused the biggest roar, and the owners have obviously taken notice of the tip comments. They have posted a sign about the gratuity in plain sight. You can tell the cashier to remove it. You can also ask to remove Seaside’s voluntary arts and entertainment tax, which is a ridiculous rip off of the public. Yes, the gratuity is probably high when just getting food to-go. If you don’t like it, ask to change it. To the owners, I do expect if there is an auto tip, that every table outside should be dried and clean by staff before the restaurant opens so when I order and eat my food there, I can sit down on a clean chair. That was not the case when I visited the day after a rainy evening. Auto gratuity requires that staff provide the highest quality service at every turn. Given all this, it is absolutely worth a visit. Don’t let the negative comments turn you away. The line out the door tells you all you need to know.

Such an awesome place. If there’s a line – don’t just that put you off the line moves quick and the food and drinks are worth the wait!
There’s a really great section of food and drinks. I had the Lavender Latte, which was very tasty. And it was a drinkable temperature which is always important to me!
I had the Egg & Cheese on an Asiago Bagel which really hit the spot. You can really tell it was made fresh and with love and care.
There’s a lovley space to sit outside whilst you take your time and enjoy your food. Would recommend to anyone. There really is a great selection of food.

We have been coming to Black Bear for years and have loved all things Black Bear but our favorite is their bagels! Staff is great and very friendly as well! However, they now are sold out of bagels most days before 9:00 AM for the last month or so! I can only chalk it up to not making enough; but for a bread company to NOT have bagels past 9:00 AM seems to be a disservice to its loyal customers. It seems we will have to look for a new favorite place.

Pick me up matcha/coffee run at 1pm. One of the best matcha drinks I had in a while. Would try the pastries next time I visit ◡̈

Wonderful coffee and breakfast place. The staff is very helpful and takes time to assist you in anyway they can. It’s nestled in a beautiful part of Seaside with indoor and outdoor seating options! Try the Beekeeper latte(honey, almond milk and sea salt) or the Hummingbird latte(lavender, honey, oat milk and sea salt), both very yummy!

Best baked goods on the FL panhandle.
I wouldn’t come here for coffee or exceptional service, but the bread, bagels, and pastries are amazing.
We have been going to BBB Co for 8+ years and are never disappointed by the Bagel Sandwiches, fresh pop tarts, and morning bun – you cannot go wrong.
