Stopped to grab some water ice to cool down in this heat. This Ritas has a lot of parking and a few tables inside to relax while eating your treats! Lots of different flavors and a pleasant environment.

Very CLEAN. Fast, and Curteous Service. We called ahead to check on a sugar free flavor, which they didnt have so the employee mixed up a batch for us to pick up. At a time where customers and businesses have been colliding, this place set the bar for customer service. I have found in general, Rita’s is doing something right with there employees, keep it up!!!!

Great location for a Rita’s! The place is clean, there’s nice seating inside and a bench outside. The staff were super nice and friendly. Been to this location 2 times and everything was wonderful.

Rita’s off of 54. Past two times the same woman with terrible ;attitude. I’ve never seen it packed and would think a customer would be a appreciated. The woman seemed miserable and made sure to make me feel I was a bother and annoying to her. The other customer before me commented of what a terrible attitude she had as well. Not a people person and should not be in the customer service business. I am a local and would be a returning customer. I may give it one more try. I do love the ice and it is close to my home. But she is representing the company not just that location. Three strikes your out

Sometimes late-night cravings lead to the best surprises. Stopping at Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard after hours was one of those moments that brightened my family’s evening. From the start, I was impressed by the sheer variety on the menu—dozens of Italian ice flavors, classic and seasonal, plus creamy frozen custard in vanilla, chocolate, and swirl, with tempting sundae and gelati options.

It’s clear Rita’s takes pride in freshness; several flavors were fruit-filled and vibrant, while others leaned into nostalgia—think cotton candy, root beer float, and even Swedish Fish. The option to blend Italian ice and frozen custard in a gelati makes for a perfectly balanced treat: smooth and tangy, cold and creamy. The custard itself was rich without being over-the-top sweet, a perfect complement to the ices.

What stood out most, besides the menu, was the friendly late-night staff. Even near closing time, they were patient, giving suggestions as I paused indecisively (so many choices!), and serving with genuine smiles. The atmosphere was cheerful, with families and groups of friends lingering over their desserts—a reminder of how simple happiness can be.

In a world full of dessert spots, Rita’s stands out for its variety, freshness, and fun. Whether you’re appeasing a late-night sugar craving or just looking for a cool, nostalgic treat, Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard is worth the stop. I’ll absolutely be back, and next time, I’ll bring friends—there are still so many flavors left to try.

My family arrived at 9pm on the dot, right when Rita’s was set to close. We had no problem getting our Italian ices. The employees were very assertive and friendly. I usually order the cotton candy gelate but this time I went with the Georgia peach gelate. It was really tasty! Such a great dessert

Visited this location yesterday early evening. This was the worse customer service I have experienced! I am local and visit Rita locations regularly and will not be coming back! The staff was rude, argumentative and prices were more expensive than the Bethany Beach location. When I questioned the price the staff explained this was how she was taught to ring it up. She was rude when I ordered, correctly me when I explained what I wanted because apparently it wasn’t the correct name. I asked her to put a small cup inside of a larger cup so my child wouldn’t spill it and she was rude and argued with me as if I was asking for more water ice for free. Then told me to have a great day in a sarcastic tone and was not professional! Her behavior was so poor that my child said she should be fired! Had my child not been excited to stop here I would’ve left.

My grandchildren are obsessed with the Rita’s water ice. Get it all the time. They just love it. However the service level on the route 54 in selbyville is absolutely abhorrent!!! The two times we were there we were totally ignored by the person behind the counter and not just us there were others. Then when we finally did get waited on they were just crude and nasty. Rrally mean!! However the service level and the wait staff are very nice at the 40th Street Coastal Highway branch.

Waited in line for 10 minutes, no biggie, it’s July at the beach. The poor girl working alone was working hard to fill the several family orders ahead of us. When our turn comes to order we’re rung up, $11 and change. I had a $50 and a couple $1s and was told no large bills. My wife and I had walked there so we walked home.
Reason for 1 star? Two things. First off the large bills thing. I can get that if it was early in day and you hadn’t taken more cash in the till. This was around 8pm. Surely by that time your cash drawer had a $20 a $10 and a $5 bills. Very poor.
Secondly I called there this morning twice. First call was answered by a recording and it cut me off. Second call just kept ringing. I’d prefer not to leave a business a bad review however your policy and lack of response brings us here.
And by the way for families looking for a quality dessert option and it’s a local institution go to Dumser’s on 123rd St OC. For $3 more we got very generously sized sundae and milkshake.
I call BS on Rita’s reply to this. If this were the case it would be news and all businesses would stop taking $50 and $100 bills.
