We stopped in for lunch and truly found a diamond in the rough. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were generous—easily enough to feed two people. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care.
Dianna made the experience even better. She was warm, welcoming, and attentive, and made us feel like regulars even though it was our first visit. You can tell she really cares about her customers and takes pride in what she does.
If you’re looking for amazing food, great portions, and genuine service, this place is a must-try. We will definitely be back!

I gave this restaurant a 1 star because the sweet and sour chicken was soft and super greasy! It was not good. And I ordered fried rice which they didn’t bother stirringat all while frying. There are clumps of white rice and you can see gains of rice are fried in one side or not fried at all. And burnt bits throughout. The cashews and raisins were all burnt on one side. Nothing special about the dumplings. I think they are frozen. But ok.
The food has gone so far down hill recently. But the last visit before this one was better than this.
They used to make sticky rice which was the whole reason I started coming here and it was so good. But then they stopped making it, and well, it’s just not worth coming here for below average food for exorbitant prices.
And, the cook can’t even bother to stir the food or at least not burn it, and I think that says a lot about who made this food.
It’s no wonder why they’ve lost so much business over the years.

Everyone who gave high ratings were absolutely right! The service was awesome they were very accommodating. Now let’s talk about the flavor! I haven’t had fried rice in awhile due to changes in my diet but I was in search of some good rice since I was splurging! Everything was delicious I had the Hot garlic chicken lunch special and the rice was amazing the crab Rangoon to die for! Keep up the great work! I will return to try the Pad Thai another one of my favorites!

Found out about this place a few months ago. I have ordered from here several times now and I’ve enjoyed every meal so far! The chicken pad thai and hot & sweet chicken are my new favorites! Service is friendly and polite too 🙂

The food is absolutely delicious and flavorful!! Over half the menu can be made gluten free which is so helpful as someone who has suffered from Celiac for 15 years it’s so nice to have Chinese food again. The owner is one of the sweetest ladies and I’ve come to really enjoy our chats when me and my husband visit the establishment. Very tasty food and very friendly staff 10/10 recommend

I would stop in here regularly for lunch because I work nearby. I even turned my coworkers on to it and we would take turns going to this place. The drunken noodles are really good and I even went in twice in one day. Bad service will definitely run me away. I stopped in on a weekend without calling because I don’t live nearby and didn’t think it would be an issue because of all my previous visits. The guy at the counter who is usually nice to me immediately blasted me for not calling and then start talking about me not calling to the customer behind me and then he let me know that it was going to be a really long wait in such a way that made me feel so bad. I almost walked out and said forget it, but I had told my friend I was going to get this food for them. Everyone else that came in, got a different tone with the same message and it made me feel that I was being treated differently. I patiently waited for my food, but for some reason, they kept speaking to me as if I was acting or seeming impatient, and I never gave off any such vibe. I’ve paid almost $60 for my food and when I got to my friends house there wasn’t any forks or condiments in the bag the food is good, but that night made me realize I will never stop at this place again. Minorities being unconsciously biased to other minorities is so frustrating to me. Since I agitated these people so bad by walking in, I never will again. I am an African American woman.

This is the one review you need to read, Golden Wok has some of the best Chinese and Thai food in STL but you need to order ahead of time. If you are starving and think, oh I will call and place a togo order, you might regret it. This is a mom and pop restaurant and the wait during peak times can be over 1 hour. Just get it in your brain to order your food ahead of time. If you do this you will unlock some of the best food and the friendliest service in town. Their crab Rangoons are some of the best, their food is delicious, and the service is amazing. Diana is the friendliest person to ever take your order and check you out. I love Golden Wok.

The food is good, some of the better Asian food in ellisville, I like eating here but $20 for a single dish is way too much. Sorry guys, your service is great. Just too pricy. If your price drops I’ll be back.

Nice guy met us at the counter. Dining area was a ghost town but pretty clean. Took our order and brought us the food in about 5 to ten minutes. When we paid he said portions were large, justifying the somewhat high price. He was right and the food was excellent! This is my new favorite asian food spot. For those of you who like your crab Rangoon savory instead of sweet this is the place. Also if you like a spicy fried noodles go here. My daughter gets her sweet sour chicken plain. That’s shown in the picture.
