Nice nippy day in Galveston. A drop-off at cruise port and I headed to Maceo’s for muffuletta to go. Always reminds me of home, New Orleans. Good food, great service by Jaden. Good time.
Plan your time. Seating is limited but I never seem to have trouble getting a table.

I love the muffaletta! It reminded me so much of New Orleans. The limited seating was a challenge, I should have taken the advantage of the outdoor seating. The staff is very friendly and the food was superb. I am looking forward to my next trip.

Order at the counter place. Very limited seating. Received our food and the food was great! Lots of stuff to look at while you are sitting. Any spice, oil, and sauce you can imagine to purchase. I had the turkey sandwich and ordered my friend and I cannoli’s. My friend had the muffaletta and rice and brown gravy. Next time i go i will absolutely go on a Friday to try their fried shrimp and get a side of the rice and brown gravy. Even if you don’t get lunch stop in and check out what they have for sale and get cannoli’s to go!

The dessert came out first which was unusual. They were out of caprese salad, pasta salad, and the eggplant dish, and belatedly substituted my order for a pita and hummus plate. The pita was fresh and the handmade hummus was good, very garlicy. The shrimp poboy was magnificent. The muriel outside is cool. The bathroom was hard to find and in the back by the kitchen. No AC, and most of the fans were off so it was warm even in September. A fly bothered us throughout our meal.

Wow! Driving through Galveston and decided to stop and try the Muffaletta that we’ve been hearing of. The place is small and crowded but they do a great job and the sandwich was delicious!! Good place can’t wait to come back.

Don’t even go there on a Sunday! I’ve been meaning to stop in to Maceo Spice & Import for some time now. Decided to make a special trip at 1:00PM on a Sunday to finally get a taste of their seafood gumbo and their cannoli. I’ve heard good things? I didn’t even look at a menu and I ordered gumbo and the sweet young lady said we don’t do gumbo on Sunday. Well I’ll be damned! What a huge disappointment! So, I decided I’d try their highly acclaimed cannoli! The sweet young lady smiled at me and said, we are out of cannolis. I really don’t know why they are even open on Sunday! If I could give them ZERO stars, I would! I was very disappointed. If I ever go back, I’m calling first!

The restaurant and store are both great.
The muffuletta’s are the best around. The red beans and rice is the most delicious I’ve ever had. The cannoli was just as they were in Sicily, amazing!

I had an amazing experience at Maceo Spice & Import company. The hummus plate was fantastic, but the muffaletta was even better! The atmosphere is awesome, and I can’t wait to try the meatballs next time because they smelled so good. The staff were incredibly friendly, and it’s always a good experience every time I come here to eat. Highly recommend!
