Appetizers:
Glazed Honey Shrimp w/ marinara & tartar sauce: the breading had incredible crunch, and the sauce was the perfect hint of sweet, but not overpowering.
Cajun French Fry w/ truffle mayo, spicy mayo, ketchup: French fry’s, just like the shrimp had incredible texture, properly seasoned all over, and really enjoyed the truffle mayo.
Mild Beef Dumplings: these weren’t our favorite, but the texture and flavor of the beef filling was delicious. I am used to having a sweet/soy based sauce to dip dumplings in, and think that would have elevated the dish into one of my favorites that we ordered.
Original Glazed Honey Soy Wings: delicious, texture was great (a common theme here)
Signature Spicy Soy Garlic Wings: the spice level was perfect for me. If you like spicy but not overpowering spicy, these will be perfect for you.
I really love this place!
The fries are another standout, especially paired with their incredible truffle mayo. The owner even mentioned that he imports truffle oil from New York to get that perfect truffle flavor — it really shows how serious he is about delivering top-quality taste. The white honey garlic pairs well with the spicy chicken sandwich.
We also tried the bulgogi rice, and it was a pleasant surprise. Super delicious and comforting! I didn’t snap a picture of the spicy rice cakes, but trust me — they are the best in town. You can customize the spice level, and level 3 definitely brings the heat!
If you’re craving authentic Korean fried chicken and amazing sides, 1982 Chicken is the spot. Highly recommend!
Also glad to see the restaurant is open until midnight on the weekends.
However, the flavor didn’t quite live up to the look. While the chicken was cooked well and had a nice crunch, it felt a little oily and lacked deep seasoning. The sauce wasn’t particularly outstanding either, and for a “spicy” sandwich, it didn’t really have that “wow factor” I was hoping for. As someone who loves a Chick-fil-A spicy chicken sandwich, I actually think Chick-fil-A still has the edge on flavor, even though this one looked more impressive when it hit the table.
It’s clear the team here puts a lot of effort into the facility and the preparation, but the end result felt more adequate than impressive. It has a lot of potential if they can just dial in the seasoning and maybe cut back on the oiliness of the fry. It was a decent, quick meal, but probably not something I’d go out of my way to head back for. A solid 3.5 Stars only on food.
Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, this place delivers on flavor and quality every time. It’s a must-visit for Korean fried chicken fans or anyone who loves good food, period.
