I liked that the menu has many pictures of entrees but a lot of the meals had no description. Aka “Barnyard Sandwich” with no idea what ingredients. I also liked that the fountain drinks had pebble ice
I do have 2 critiques to give. Fries were homemade style, not crispy at all and very bland. I don’t think they had any seasoning whatsoever
Also there were flies everywhere. They were all on the booths and landing on us. Thankfully the waitress brought a little fan like contraption to the table to help shoo them away from the food, but still not pleasant to deal with. There were bug catchers hung on the ceiling.. it seems like it is a known problem
Worth noting, despite the mascot looking like a fisherman, this is not a seafood joint [but there are a few options]. They focus on burgers and burritos and breakfast foods, and do very well.
Very American. Would recommend to anyone wanting ‘comfort’ food.
The eggs benedict was good, but in an effort to be big on the plate they used English muffins about 5 inches in diameter, these were big boys. It’s sounds nice to give big portions, but that means that there wasn’t enough egg for the benedict. The egg was cooked over easy instead of poached, which is okay, and maybe they sized the English muffin to the egg, but this results in a lot less egg per square inch. I don’t expect a diner to poach eggs, but in this case smaller muffins might be better. The hollandaise was good and not broken, but overly lemony for my taste. I’d order it again, but that is the criticism I’d give it.
The country breakfast was nice and simple. The biscuits were soft and pillowy and the gravy was okay. I think it was supposed to be a sausage gravy, but their sausage is very mild, so it predominanty tasted of black pepper. Texture was good though.
Overall simple good and filling breakfast food.
I ordered the Malibu Chicken sandwich, and it was honestly the largest chicken sandwich I have ever seen, and it was around $12. The tator tots were also great.
My wife got the Turkey, Spinach, Avocado sandwich. She also loved it!
We will be back! Their Mexican dishes looked fantastic and and we plan to drive the hour to eat them.
It was very delicious same enough to feed 2 light weights or one hangry person.
The waitress had skills with kindness. She could catch a bee in a small container while providing wholesome service.
