I have to say that hands down Linda’s has the absolute best chili dogs and hamburgers/cheeseburgers anywhere in Mathews County. I’d include Gloucester County in that area too. In addition, the service is quick and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable too. This restaurant should be on your must try list.

There seem to be limited breakfast options around the town of Mathews, so we decided to go with Linda’s. It is definitely a diner experience. Simple, but good.
The ham omelet used thinly sliced lunch meat which is different than many places that use chunks of ham. It seemed to add to the “hamminess”, and it was very cheesy.
I didn’t try the bacon, but it looked tasty, meaty and prepared well.
I didn’t like that they don’t accept credit cards. It is inconvenient, and feels kind of shady…now let’s have a look at the tax returns. It is 2025, take cards. I also didn’t like that for a dine in order they served drinks in styrofoam cups, and don’t get me started on the “one refill” mentioned on the menu for a drink that is 90% ice. I did like the crushed ice, however.

Ordered a breakfast burrito with sausage, bacon, cheese and gravy, potatoes as side. burrito was pretty big , smothered in gravy…. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! I’ve also ordered breakfast bowls, and often order burgers also… Always great quality, never disappointed!! Would definitely recommend!
