This is not a place I would ever recommend. Now the Staff and Owner were very personable and polite. After listening to a five plus minute explanation about their menu and specials. We were asked to sample the Chili Verde. This was after I had politely explained I don’t care for Chili Verde. I understand they are well known for this, however you should not badger a customer. The owner even commented about the verde, when I explained to him that his was good. (I was polite and tasted his offering) but we wouldn’t be ordering the verde. He made a snide comment about not appreciating his World Famous Chili Verde to another customer. We placed our breakfast order dispite feeling uncomfortable and not enjoying the experience up till that point. This picture is of Chicken Fried Steak, Eggs over easy, crispy hash browns and white toast. Now I asked for Sausage Gravy, but instead was served this horrible red paste. My steak tasted like it was microwaved after soaking in a fryer, my hash browns were not crispy they were rock hard. The toast was cold and they don’t even butter it.
Now normally I would have asked for my plate and order to be fixed properly. But after the completely uncomfortable time we had. I told the server I was full and paid my bill. As she returned to the kitchen we overheard her tell the owner and cook. That I apparently didn’t like his gravy anymore then I did his Verde.
This is one place that will never get a second chance to make it right.
Do not eat here.

What a waste of a morning! Service was horrible! One server in the whole restaurant, who was maybe 15 years old. She brought out 2 tall glasses of chocolate milk filled to the brim for my 4 and 2 year olds. We asked for a smaller glass and she brought one. We asked for another and she brought it after we finished eating. We ordered pancakes off of the kids menu and a side of bacon for our children to share. The pancakes came out 10 minutes before everything else, which is fine the kids were hungry. But we requested a second plate, which we asked for twice and never got it. My husband’s food came out 10 minutes before my own, because “our gravy isn’t warmed up yet” this was an hour after opening. I’m assuming it was yesterday gravy if it needed to be warmed up. My breakfast tasted like yesterday’s warm ups. The biscuit, which looked like an English muffin, was hard. The hash browns were hard, the country fried steak was chewy, hard, and oil soaked. Coffee comes in the smallest mugs I’ve ever seen, maybe like 6oz. We got one refill, that we had to ask for. When we finally walked to front to get our check after waiting at the table for 10 minutes, our bill was $46.00! For a kids meal, the daily “special” and a waffle breakfast. We could have eaten at Red Lobster for that much! Ridiculous! We won’t be back and beware if you decide to try to yourself!

First time there although we live right down the street and have been there over 5 years. The atmosphere was very 50’s with pictures and the classic diner feel. The food was great! The Chili Verde has been talked about and reviewed many times, as it should be. It was delicious! We had a sample of it awaiting on our table and that sold us on getting all our dishes with Chili Verde on them. The portion size was pretty perfect too! Left there not feeling super over full and uncomfortable. We left satisfied and tummies happy. The owner was friendly, as well. Our waitress took great care of us and was on our coffee refills. Even after we were done eating, we hung out with our good friends and had conversations but we weren’t rushed out the door. Good food, good people. Thank you!
