The White House Café was opened in 1907 in downtown Camden by Hristos Hodjopulas, who had moved to southern Arkansas from Greece.
Legendary Arkansas restaurant built circa 1907; award-winning steaks, specializes in meatloaf, roast beef, chicken fried steaks and hamburgers.

I ordered two taco salads with cheese dip and chips spent $38.87 paid $40.00 with tip and I had to return the taco salads because they didn’t even put the chili on it and after I had gotten home with the new taco salads … it was the worst taco salads I have ever had I don’t know what they did wrong or change in the ingredients, but when I called to complain about the food and they told me that because they refused my order and because it was a Togo order I couldn’t get a refund or a replacement order… I have never had a problem with this restaurant until now… I don’t recommend ordering the taco salad from here it’s nasty and disgusting even the salsa and avocado dip was nasty. I don’t know what they did different but they need to go back to the drawing board with that one as well.

The white house Cafe. The postmasters grill. The sandbar. Those places have changed so so much over the last 40yrs. When i was in school. And Camden, magnolia, and Eldorado was alive, kicking, and booming little towns. But their pretty much abandoned, deserted, dead, little ghost towns now, 2025. Those 3 steak houses are nothing like they used to be. Once-a-pon-a-time. So many years ago. Their nothing. Don’t even come close. To how they used to be. So long ago.

Overall, ok. Don’t think I didn’t notice the dirty looks towards my boyfriends amputated leg. It took longer than it should’ve to get our orders taken and then out to us. ..especially since it was practically dead inside. The food was decent, the burgers are huge! Don’t waste your time on the Irish nachos..definitely not worth the overcharging…at least with the regular fries, you get more than enough to share.

Great place to eat with the kids or slip in the bar and have some drinks& play pool. We had Texas toothpicks, fried pickles, steak, and cheeseburgers in the restaurant and then went right into the bar for drinks. Fun time had by all. Teresa is a great bartender and very attentive.

That is a pic of half tamale plate and the nacho plate. Everything has been top notch each time we visit. Daily specials but get there early. A little small town treasure!

Excellent service at the bar, and probably the best food I’ve ever had in Camden! I’ll definitely return.

Went for a ladies lunch on Xmas eve to celebrate my nieces birthday with her friend and while there was only one server there that one server did her absolute best to make sure we had everything we needed. She went above and beyond bringing out my nieces cake and other staff members to wish her a happy birthday and sing her the song. The food is good. But the service was phenomenal. Thank you to the holiday staff at this establishment for being awesome!!

I wasn’t informed that getting a different drink would be a whole different cost. I ordered a 10.99 shrimp and there were five of them. I had to ask for my appetizer minutes after our food came.
