My family and I almost always eat Mexican food at least once when we travel. We’ve eaten at some really great, authentic, award winning restaurants all across the country so it’s pretty crazy that the best Mexican food we’ve ever had was in a tiny town in VA.
We enjoyed beautiful, elevated, top quality ingredient dishes. The restaurant is pristine, our server was very knowledgeable and attentive, and the owners are the sweetest, most gracious people. We can’t wait to visit The Random Plate again!

A Mexican restaurant in Honaker!? Really good food. Price is a little steep but if you go in for taco Tuesday you won’t be disappointed by the $1.79 beef or shredded chicken tacos! The server was incredibly friendly and the place was very clean.

One of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in the area. Such a great addition to the town of Honaker. Their restaurant was very clean and the food was amazing. The food was extremely authentic and the owner and his family was very nice and made us feel like we knew them for forever,even walking us through the process of how certain plates were cooked and spices he used. Also tried the desert and it was too was great, Had a great time here. We will definitely be back soon.

The best Authentic Mexican food I have ever tasted!!! If you haven’t tried this restaurant you are missing out. Everything we tasted was so delicious, and the owners were such nice people. Our family will definitely be going back over and over again lol!!

The place is excellent! Finally a great place to eat in the honaker area. The guy there was super friendly and didn’t care to help tell us about the different ways they prepare their meats. I am definitely coming back and will be urging people that I know around the area to try it out! Clean place, amazing staff, and delicious food. You can’t ask for anything else.

This was my first time trying The Random Plate. I had looked at the website photos before. I realized very quickly this is no ordinary eatery. The dishes displayed were plated beautifully! The menu is all available online. Hours are even to 10:00.
We ordered chicken fajitas. They were very fresh, tender. The rice and beans were fresh as well. Side salad included guacamole, lettuce, pico, sour cream.
We also got cheese dip which was perfectly seasoned, exact right consistency with quality cheese. Salsa was fresh and these may be the best chips I have had at a Mexican spot. My son got cheesecake
for dessert. It was prepared very beautifully with chocolate lace drizzle and a fresh strawberry puree. Magnificent.
Service was wonderful, take out order correct, place was very clean.
My family has already eaten here 4 times in a week! I will be back to try all the menu items that looked great but I’ve never had. Oh and the desserts……

I can not recommend them enough. We are visiting from Pennsylvania and stopped here to eat. The food is AMAZING. but the staff is even more amazing. I wish every restaurant was like this place. Please come give them your business you won’t regret it.
