I’ve come to the Olde English Creamery 3x from the span of 2019 to now and have enjoyed my experiences each time!
Atmosphere: Located in the historic part of downtown, the space feels like a cozy cottage (perfect for afternoon tea)! I came with my British friend, and she said that she felt like she was in England with the way the shop is decorated.
Service: Upon arrival, you choose the table you want to sit at, and the server then comes to take your tea order!
Menu items: There are a variety of loose leaf tea options, and each individual person at the table gets their own tea pot! I got the Earl Grey on my most recent visit and split a Full Afternoon Tea with my friend! The tier they provide is made up of three different courses: sandwiches + sausage wheels, scones + pastries, and a sweet of some sort!
I love that all of the tea cups and tea pots are different shapes, styles, and colors! What’s even more enticing about the shop is that the owner is from England, so you actually experience an authentic afternoon tea!
I have held several large group get togethers here and my friends had the best time. The place is small (so reserve early!), but charming with little touches of flair all around. The mixed matched tea sets are delightful and everyone gets super excited to see which teapot they’ll receive. I really appreciate the variety of tea to include non-caffeinated ones for those wishing to abstain. Personally, I like the lavender.
The food is outstanding. Sometimes I swing by without a reservation just for a sausage roll for takeaway, they are THAT GOOD. The scones are perfection and the clotted cream is the best I’ve had this side of the pond. Recently we went on a Viking Cruise to the Mediterranean that had a high tea and it really did not live up to the Olde English Creamery. Not even close.
The ladies working here are super sweet and welcoming. They’re constantly running to ensure each set of guests has everything they need to really enjoy themselves.
Keep your eyes open for themed tea events (like Harry Potter or Taylor Swift!) and don’t be scared to dress up! Hats, fascinators, feathers, dresses, suits all make for a fun time. Dressing up is half the fun of coming here 🙂
There’s a pay by the hour car park half a block to the east, or if you’re lucky you can find some on-street parking near the park.
They do serve wine and bubbly if you’re celebrating!
