This is a very atmospheric and cozy place! You can enjoy a view of the snowy mountains while having your meal. The hot chocolate tasted amazing, and the food was pretty good too. Recommended!

We were seated quickly. Large portion sizes for soups and sandwiches but we were not a fan of the flavor. We loved the peach and huckleberry crisp!

The ambience is very special, and you feel the historical aspects of it as you walk into it. Spectacular views of Mt.Jefferson and Mr.Hood are breathtaking. Service was quick and excellent. However, the food was hit or miss. Giant pretzel was delicious with warm cheese sauce. It is a must try. Their famous hot chocolate was very good and tasty. Warm Latte arrived more on cold-side. Naan pizza and grilled cheese sandwich were average. I see other reviews sharing similar opinions about food. Best is to go for choices what most people have recommended. Nevertheless, I would visit again, and for the ambience.

Mostly ate here for the historic vibe, they were quite busy and we had to wait for a table. The portions are massive and the food is generally pretty heavy. We had the meatballs, clam chowder and hot chocolate for 2 people, we had leftovers.

Had a late lunch at Ram’s Head Bar after an afternoon of skiing. The setting is fantastic as the restaurant sits on the second floor of the Timberline Lodge. The food was solid, and the service was good. The views down below on the lobby and out the window on to Mt Hood are spectacular!

Stopped by the Bar for lunch at 12:50pm, about half the tables full. Ordered a cup
of Tomato soup and the artichoke dip appetizer… shouldn’t take long, right?

I sat for 30 minutes waiting for the cup of soup. Flagged down my server, Heather, asked if she could just bring me the soup now and appetizer whenever it was ready. She said sure.
15 minutes later, still no soup. 5 minutes after that, my soup and appetizer plate arrive. Heather asks me if everything is ok, I say no, this took over a half hour. She apologized said she was busy with other tables and she would have the manager stop by. The soup was fine, but the artichoke dip had almost no artichokes and was a gray, tasteless creamy mess, and so salty I couldn’t eat it, as much as I wanted to.
Of course no manager stopped by, so I found him myself, who said it should have never taken that long and comped the meal (which I appreciated).
At that point I’d been there over an hour. The great ambiance and views don’t make up for the bad service and bad food. I will visit again but will never eat here.

You really can’t beat a bite to eat and warm drink from the balcony overlooking the inside of one of the most iconic Works Progress Administration’s lodges. The Ram’s Head Bar inside the top floor of Timberline Lodge’s main room is breathtaking. If you’re visiting for the first time it is a must and worth it for the views any time of year.

The dishes are classic upscaled pub fare and several vegan/veg options. Food and drinks focus on the region.

The atmosphere is wonderful and very cozy!
The food was ok, soup was good.
Beware There was a crazy charge for a side of bread that the waitress made sound like it came with the soup. 3 people at our table said “sure” on her offer for bread on side with
the soup. When we got the bill we were charged $9 for side of bread and $11 for side of gluten free bread!!! We were not expecting or planning to pay $35 in total (after auto gratuity and service charge)for sides of bread! It Felt very misleading.

Josh the server was good , he was nice and friendly. We went up New Years Day, place was fairly busy. We ordered 2 clam chowder bread bowls, after 25mins they came to tell us something was wrong with the clam chowder and wouldn’t serve it. Asked if we wanted something else but the moment had passed. Our 2 prime rib dips came and they were just ok half meat was very cold and seemed thrown together last minute, not impressed. The pretzel for the table was fine but it’s just a pretzel…for $16. First time there and no real reason to return other than skiing, really expected something better.

Nice for being the nostalgic hotel & great view , that’s about it. Service was meh (hire more people?) , food over priced for what was had. Brought mom here for the first time ,we waited hour for soup & crab dip…
Everyone was nice but scratching head where the disconnect was in service.
