We stopped by at the recommendation of a friend and boy was he spot on, really amazing food. I checked out their website before we went and read how all the ingredients are fresh and clean and that really comes through in the taste of all the food.
I ordered the Bee Sting Burrito and as I’m telling the guy behind the counter what I want I realize he’s making my flour tortilla fresh! At that point I knew this would be a great experience.
The Bee Sting burrito is large flour tortilla, white rice, black beans, ancho chicken, romaine, pico de gallo, jack cheese, and pineapple hot sauce. The flavors are so bright and fresh and the freshly grilled flour tortilla really rounded the taste off.
My wife did one of the bowls and built her own with tempeh,
which they make in-house. The portion was large for my wife’s bowl and my burrito.
We ordered chips and guacamole and the chips were with flour vs corn tortilla which was a welcome change and the guacamole was super fresh.They do offer lots of vegetarian options for all the meals.
They have a nice selection of local tap beer and fresh kombucha on tap.
It’s a walk up & self order place and they have both indoor and outdoor seating with some picnic tables right out front. The restaurant is right on Central Ave in downtown St Pete so it’s a great vibe with lots going on.

Absolutely amazing food let’s start there! My first time coming here I ordered the the Dutch fox and went and ate them cried tears of joy as I walked back up to order more! Went and tried the popos tacos next and again!, went crazy over the amazing flavor and perfect blend of everything in the tacos! Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone that wants real authentic tacos made with so much love! Very nice people and staff very helpful with any questions about the ingredients, helping out if you wanna substitute anything! Has veggie options which is fantastic for my wife! 10/10 recommend to anyone that comes to downtown St. Petersburg!!! Love ya guys!!!! Keep up the amazing work!!!!

Best fresh tacos we’ve had in a long time. We looked it up online and it was rated one of the best in St Pete and they were spot on. We got the fresh made corn tortillas, definitely the way to go and it was fun watching them make them. We are definitely coming back next time we are in town.

Anytime we have out of town guests and/or we spend the day at the beach in St Pete, we’re eating at Poppi’s. Fresh & insanely DELICIOUS. You can’t go wrong w/ any combination of toppings. The flour tortillas freshly pressed, the honey lime cabbage, the roasted pineapple salsa, the chimmi aioli….LORD!!

Love it! Treated like royalty, it was super fun watching them press out the tortillas and the burritos! Wow amazing. I would recommend the carnitas. The drinks were great so much variation and was made with real sugar cane! We will be coming back to this place many more times! Highly recommend Poppos taqueria if you’re in the mood for great food great service and leftovers.

I’m a huge fan of Poppo’s Taqueria in downtown St. Pete—it’s clean, wholesome, and they are committed to using thoughtfully sourced ingredients so I feel good about what I’m ordering here. In addition, they use avocado and palm oils so it’s cleaner eating.
Everything is made from scratch, even the chips and wraps, which makes it so much better.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be returning!

I eat at Poppo’s Taqueria in St. Pete quite often and the food is consistently great. This time I ordered a quesadilla and a bowl and both were fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I expect from this place. I also love that they use organic ingredients and avoid seed oils, which really sets them apart.
Most of the staff is friendly and keeps things moving, but there is one older woman who consistently seems to have a pretty sour attitude, which can take away from the experience a bit. Outside of that, the rest of the team is solid and does a good job.
Great food, reliable quality, and still one of my favorite casual spots in the area, even with the occasional service hiccup.

Featuring hand-made chips (actually handmade here) and simple classic soda’s combined with excellent service and delicious food. We ordere a poppo’s tacos and bee sting burrito with a half order of chips. That was plenty of food. I tried the honey lime cabbage and it was an excellent combination of sweet and sour. The tortilla was made right in front of us and all things were cooked and assembled quickly.
