I love MIXT! Such amazing, creative salad ingredients that always taste fresh. I always make my own salad, and can make a different cuisine every time. Definitely pricey, but worth it I would say, and definitely far superior to sweetgreen.

Update: this location messed up an order AGAIN! Paid extra for crispy cauliflower on a salad and didn’t get it. My bad for not fully unboxing my order in front of the staff which I suppose is necessary. I will only be going to the Oakland location from now on.
Ordered the tofu sandwich for takeout and it literally didn’t have tofu on it. Just cabbage and avocado. I wish I was joking. Would have called the store to work it out instead of leaving a review but they do not have a phone number. So I guess if you order takeout from here you have to open it up in store to check if it has the MAIN INGREDIENT.

MIXT in Berkeley, California is a fantastic salad spot. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are vibrant, and the menu offers a great variety. The cool, modern atmosphere makes it a perfect place for a healthy meal. Highly recommend!

I had the opportunity to stop by Mixt in Berkeley yesterday while staying nearby. Having moved to another state some time ago, my go-to location used to be the Oakland store. I was pleasantly surprised to see Sam now serving as the General Manager — it was wonderful to see her and the excellent team she leads at this location. They are doing an outstanding job, and I look forward to visiting again whenever I am in town.

I didn’t design my own bowl. It’s not that difficult to do, but at the time it seemed daunting. All I had to do was pick whether I wanted grains or greens. Then I needed to choose the specific grain or green I wanted. Next was the protein. After the protein is when it started to get real tricky. I needed to select five speciality ingredients and there was a total of 48! That’s when I gave up on designing my own bowl, the going got too tough. I couldn’t even make it to the dressing part. I ended up choosing from the chef crafted selection. It wasn’t exactly what I wanted, but at least I didn’t have to think about what I want. What if I ended up hating what I thought I wanted? I’d be the only one to blame. If I let the chef decide, I can blame them if I don’t like it. I wasn’t ready to take control of my life and design my own bowl so I passed that responsibility off. The Be Well salad was pretty good.

I have made this location my go to lunch spot for the last few months. Customer service is excellent; and Fernanda does a wonderful job of making sure my order is made exactly how I like, even while working on another order! Sam provides excellent customer service at the reception area and my meals have been incorporated into my diet. In short, great food, excellent customer service, and great atmosphere.

The salad plate doesn’t look attractive. On the picture it looked much more appetizing. After eating it, i was actually satisfied. I don’t think i would ever come back again unless they hire a skillful salad plate decorator and reduce the price a little.
