I have passed this place so many times and tonight I decided I want to try a new place. This food was AMAZING!!!! It is so well seasoned, cooked, and most importantly delicious. For the portion I got (which was pretty big) was definitely worth the price ($11). It doesn’t seem too busy which is sad because this place is well deserving of the food they make and deserves all of the hype!!!! PLEASE consider coming here next time you want something quick for yourself, a gathering, etc. Great place.

After the closing of east cafe, there was a sesame chicken shaped hole in my heart. I wandered this earth aimlessly, with no purpose, and a hunger that could only be satisfied with the sweet, gentle taste of quality Chinese food. I was broken, beaten down, and hopeless, when my friend and I decided to try this restaurant. The first succulent bite whisked me away to another universe. It was truly fantastic. This chicken cures AIDS and other diseases thought to be incurable. I grew 3 inches after finishing my meal, and I am now 6 foot 7. I will absolutely, positively be back. I love New Rice Kitchen. Thank you for doing God’s work.

One of our favorites when back in town in East Lansing. The food is SO GOOD every time and the authentic atmosphere makes the experience feel genuine. Recommended to anyone visiting your kiddos at MSU.

The only legit Chinese BBQ place in central Michigan. Ask for their BBQ/skewer menu. I recommend their lamb skewers and Northeast-style dumplings. They serve slowly. Be sure to call to order at least half an hour before you arrive.

Well! If you haven’t tried their dumplings, you are missing out! I have tried so many dumplings from far too much places, and this place is the best!! The owners are very nice, they explained to me that their dumplings are made in house fresh; I had to order a second plate

I will say the food wasnt the best to be honest, I do respect the fact that their open late and I got some hot food to eat but the chicken fried ride wasnt very flavorful and the crab rangoons they were a bit off norm in terms of shaping and there were only like 3 for how much they were. I respect how hard working they are to get food out as quick as possible, so I woudnt discredit the food I think for me I need spicy food so this is great for people who dont like super spicy food.

The food was overall very good. My wife and I ordered General Tsos, Mongolian beef, steamed dumplings, and egg rolls. Reading the reviews most of the recent ones were quite positive. This place definitely doesn’t deserve the low ratings reflected in their current score.
The General Tsos was tasty, the Mongolian beef some of the best I’ve had in quite a while from anywhere. The egg rolls were large, and tasty. The steamed dumplings were very delightful, the filling well seasoned.
We’ll return again for takeout.

Part of the reason I went were all the “1” reviews this place got, to see if it was really that bad. My experience was OK. I picked up my food, and it took about five minutes to get my kung pao chicken. You should really like celery and green peppers, because that is about 90% of the meal. It tasted alright. I have to compare it to other Chinese restaurants in the area, though, and it is not as good as those.
I found it amusing that the bathroom had a sign saying you needed a key to use it. And the lady at the counter wasn’t even the slightest bit friendly, like I was bothering her.
