COSTLY meal! We had dinner at Turquoise Trail with our daughter. Ordered two hamburgers, a Caesar salad with shrimp, a full order of buffalo wings, two iced teas and one coke. The shrimp in the salad sized shrimp, literally the smallest shrimp!! Hamburgers were basic hamburgers with lettuce, tomato, onion and cheese and fries. Buffalo wings were decent but not great. Almost $99 for this. Really? Service is as mediocre. Probably the last time we will eat there.

I was expecting basic bar food when I ordered the loaded tater tots.
What I received was handmade, over-sized tater tots. Creamy and cheesy, crispy on the outside. I added Burris beef, which was portioned appropriately, topped with sour cream, cheddar and green onions. Delicious treat while my husband played. Take a chance on this little spot inside Buffalo Thunder.

Don’t tip! The service here is slow and RUDE to the point that I wouldn’t even consider giving a tip, but you are actually FORCED to give 18% gratuity and there’s still an extra tip line to trick you into giving more. Employees don’t make eye contact with you, they tell you there’s a 40+ minute wait even with empty tables, and even tell you they have no idea when you ask them about your order that hasn’t even come out after 20 minutes. Food is nothing to write home about either, expensive and overly greasy. Birria tacos were incredibly inconsistent when I got them day to day and burgers weren’t any better than Wendy’s.

I was looking around for restaurants on the evening of 7 Oct 2024, and since the deli (I think it’s called Pueblo Deli) were out of items and there were limited restaurants within a 1-mile radius of this property, I decided to eat here. Apparently, a lot of other people had the same idea because there was a ~25 min wait time, which I thought was rather ridiculous since there was hardly anyone in the dining area. I suspected that the restaurant was short-staffed causing the long wait time, but I just wanted to sit somewhere and watch the Monday Night Football (MNF) game that was televised. Given the fact that the town had limited options during that time of night (I arrived at the restaurant ~8 pm), I was rather annoyed that I had no other choice but to wait it out. Most restaurants seem to close around 9 or 10 pm in the immediate area and surrounding cities/towns…which I’m not used to living in Las Vegas (Nevada). After about 1.5 min of standing there, I noticed a few seats open at the bar, so I asked if I could sit there – the host allowed me which was great since I literally wiped away an additional 23.5 min of wait time.
I was able to quickly order my drink and food…and watch the MNF game so I was content. I ordered a Cup of New Mexico Green Chile Stew and the Grilled Salmon. I was a bit disappointed with the “stew” because the consistency seemed more like a soup rather than a stew. Also, the “stew” was pretty spicy so if you have a low tolerance of spicy food, then use caution with this entrée – whereas, I enjoyed the heat level. The Grilled Salmon was a major disappointment because it was extremely overcooked. I was bummed out because I was looking forward to having something healthier and with limited restaurants opened within the vicinity, I thought I was going to get a steal. Needless to say, my feelings are the thing that got stolen from this place. Of noteworthy mention, I did try Turquoise Trail in Oct 2023 when I stayed on property and got the Full Order of Chicken Wings (Buffalo and Garlic Parm flavors) and Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich. To my recollection, those entrées were great which also contributed to my return (Oct 2024) visit to this business.
I don’t have any feedback on the service that’s provided in the dining area since both of my visits were always in the bar area. Considering this, along with the host/hostess I’ve witnessed, the service is adequate at this place. The price-to-quantity/quality ratio is just ok – I am thankful that I didn’t have to spend an arm and a leg for the less than adequate meal I had during my recent visit. Would I recommend this place to others that have never been here? Sure…but, treat this place as just a place to get a quick drink and relax with some average “bar” food. Don’t expect this place to WOW you with their “culinary prowess,” but instead provide an ok-to-questionable meal in the event you become lazy and don’t want to drive into Santa Fe while staying on property.

Wow, 3rd day open and man was it great. Close to one of the best green chile cheese burgers in the 505. Ron area server was awesome. . And the prices were incredible. Compared to Santa Fe and only 15 minutes away.

First time eating here and I don’t know if I’ll be back but it’s possible. I definitely won’t be ordering the nachos. Beans had no flavor but the cheese was good. I just expected more for the price. Maybe something else will be tastier but I’m not hopeful.
I did have a blueberry Tom Collins which was very good. I will be back for that!

The grill has lost its touch, it took us almost 15 minutes to get seated, our server and almost all of the waitstaff were amazing however when we attempted to order appetizers 3 options “were out” and it was only 6pm, we ordered our main courses and 30 minutes later we were given the wrong food and had to wait another half hour to recieve the right order. The food itself is nothing special, mostly comparable to that of a bowling alley or entertainment center, parts of the dish were overly hot and cold, Refills were asked for but never provided and when the final check came they failed to provide a pen and other waitstaff refused to provide a pen. The atmosphere was dark and absent of life and most livelyness came from the bar behind us.

If I could leave no stars I would. First of all we walked in to extremely bright lights.the hostess didn’t know where to sit us. We finally get seated our waiter takes our drinks comes back with a water instead of one drink. When asked about it he lied and said. I told you she was looking for basil”I look over to the bar and the bar tender is standing there talking to the hostess. I asked him for desert menu for my daughter. He said let me go check. And does not return. Keep in mind this place was completely dead. I look over back to see if my drink is almost ready and still the bartender is not working on my drink. She’s actually serving someone else so me and my family decide to get up and leave. If I could give no stars on the food I would cause we didn’t even get any food let alone my drink.
