Bloomin’ Cafe had gone through some growing pains when initially started, but definitely found their footing in a nice spot with ample parking in north Normal, Illinois. There have been changes made within the past year, some more subtle than others, but they make all the difference. The friendly, open atmosphere for breakfast is inviting and welcoming. The owners and their servers are all friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable, and that just makes you feel at ease to enjoy your meal.
Speaking of which, some of the subtle changes you may notice are the organic ketchup condiment you have on the table and the real butter being used with your meal and for sides. This is intentional as it’s about ensuring better quality, less additive ingredients are being used when preparing and serving your meal. Adding quality garnishes and spices to things like your eggs and hashbrowns are minor yet quite noticeable and enhance the meal in just the right way.
Something that almost sounds silly when I’m saying it, yet is grossly devoid in many places is the fact that when you take a bite and taste the eggs, they taste like really fresh real eggs. Hashbrowns as well don’t taste or feel like they have a bunch of extra or processed junk with them. A little salt and pepper to taste for each enhances the already great flavor. Additionally, the pancakes are exactly the same; great taste that just seems right.
The meal tastes as it should, and brings me back to memories 40 years ago how my breakfast food used to taste. A few years ago, I may have said the meal was a bit on the pricey side, but in reality these days it’s on par with other restaurants. However, that is a gross understatement as the quality is punching far above this standard of a weight class as the quality ingredients and preparation are much better.
I’ve been here when it’s early morning and not so busy as well as a mid Sunday morning with a packed house, and the meals stay consistent. The cooks do an excellent job and can you can tell they actually care about how they are preparing and serving the food. The cook and the owners do come around and ensure that things are just right as they care about their business and most importantly their customers, the life blood of why they do what they do.
This may sound like a lot to just talk about some eggs on a plate, but if you really do care about what you eat and enjoy a simple yet quality meal, please consider patronizing this business and supporting what a family run restaurant in your local hometown should be. You’ll be glad you did.

Overall, I ‘d say average food that could be improved with slight knowledge of temperature. The omelette (Southern style special of the day) was overdone and the hash browns achieved the simultaneous state of over done and underdone.

I went here for lunch today and my experience was great. My first impression when I first walked in the restaurant was the interior looked really nice. I ordered the Country Omelette. I was not a big fan of the country gravy. Since it was my first time having country gravy, it might just be a personal preference and had nothing to do with the cooking. Everything else on my plate was fantastic. I was amazed with the pancakes. They are actually the best pancakes I have ever had. I’ve had pancakes from multiple places and they’ve all had the same taste but this one was different. I loved it. My server was friendly. I liked that she didn’t check up on me every 5 seconds. Most places tend to do that. Even though I arrived a bit late, no one rushed me to finish my food. Great service and food. I’ll be returning another time. 🙂

We were on a cross country trip and needed a place to please adults and kids. This fit the bill with options for breakfast and lunch! Quiet and clean! Great food and we all left full. After leaving I realized I had left my purse. The owner, Nurije had already contacted me on Facebook to let me know she had it. She kindly shipped it to me over 500 miles away. While I offered to reimburse for shipping costs, she took care of it on her own. Good food is great, but outstanding customer service really seals the deal. Stop in for great food and owners with integrity!

I stopped in this morning for breakfast at the Bloomin Cafe. The restaurant was very clean with a pleasant white & grey decor. The lovely waitress was polite and provided excellent customer service. I ordered the all meat skillet with the chocolate chip banana pancakes which arrived at my table faster than I expected.
The food was delicious and I left Bloomin Cafe completely satisfied.
If you get a chance try this place out. It is highly recommended!

It was our first time eating here and we absolutely loved it. All of the food was fresh and tasted delicious. I had the chicken sandwich and my husband had the brunch burger. The fries were crispy and fluffy. I also got an iced vanilla latte for the drink. It looked very nice inside and the service was great. We will definitely be back again!
