We had to go see for ourselves after hearing all the buzz about this place in Brighton, and wow, it lived up to the hype. This spot is a genuine local favorite, and it’s easy to see why. We went all in, ordering a bunch of their stuff, and everything was fantastic. We started with the tacos de deshebrada and the picadillo, both of which were delicious, but the alambre vaquero was on another level. The mix of skirt steak, beef ribs, and tripitas was just a dream come true for taco lovers.
We were also lucky enough to catch their special: a torta especial. It was loaded with carnitas, ham, and cheese, piled high with all the fixings—seriously one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. We also tried the chile Colorado, and it tasted like a true family recipe from Chihuahua—so rich and comforting. On top of that, they’ve just started doing aguachiles and ceviches. The aguachiles especially blew us away; they’re so good they could easily be the best in the state.
To wash it all down, we got their micheladas, and what makes them unique is the topping: their house-made beef jerky. You can tell it’s made with care, adding this amazing, smoky flavor that just takes the whole drink to a new level. And you can’t leave without trying one of their aguas frescas. They’re made fresh every day, with a new flavor each week to keep things interesting.
Seriously, this place is a must-visit if you’re ever in Brighton, Colorado. You won’t be disappointed!
The salsa and guac was fresh, the queso fundido con chorizo amazing, the tripa, arrachera and quesa birria tacos delectable, the smothered burrito wholesome and the churros and pay de queso a great wat to wrap it up.
This has to be a go to place for amazing Mexican food from the region of Chihuahua.
The best/most authentic Mexican food I have had. I got the barbacoa burrito, tostada, and cauldo(soup). For an appetizer I had fideo and tacos de papa(potato tacos). All the food was delicious and had that homemade taste and feeling. The only thing holding this place back was the service. When we came it was a bit busy at first, so having a longer wait time/getting our order taken is understnadle. It was after about half the restaurant was empty and there was only the people at the bar that it got frustrating. It was almost as if the waiters did not want to check up on us. For refills or to order some more food.
While I could normally deal with it, the volume is so loud you could not talk and the speaker would crack.
That was just the beginning, I ordered Birria Tacos and my wife ordered Alambre. A mistake in the kitchen led to the wrong Alambre being delivered, which was rough enough she wasn’t able to eat it. They did comp that, which was nice.
My Birria Tacos were soggy and without flavor.
I will say the lady who made the mistake and the waiter were both good folk.
But the accordions man…
