Surprised at how much we enjoyed the place. The Cardinal pizza was delicious.
The 14yo ate a whole pepperoni pizza.
The picky 5 year old declared “This is the best (cheese) pizza I’ve ever had, better than Pagliacci’s.” He even at all the crust.
The Arnold Palmer here may be the best in the world.

I had to try this restaurant after seeing their ratings. We showed up at 6:45 to eat and there was only a few tables of people inside. We ordered an appetizer, I ordered the meatball sandwich, my wife ordered pesto pasta, and my kids ordered pizzas. Approx 50 minutes later, my wife’s pasta came out but nothing else. I asked about our food to the young girl that was our waitress and I was told “it’s coming… our drive through is busy”.
20 minutes later the pizzas came out, followed by my meatball sandwich, which is really a half a calzone. We still didn’t have our appetizer yet. Another lady came by and explained that they have two kitchen lines making food, so things don’t come out at the same time. The food is created fresh, which you can taste, I like that they use a variety of old china plates, and this could be a good place for a date night. But my kids were starving and the wait was definitely excessive.
We love all of the pastas and other creations Ben has prepared for us. We have never been disappointed, and they always exceed expectations.
We go here regularly and do not plan on slowing down. We go dine in and take out orders and love it both ways!
I have to add updated information. Ben has done many new and great improvements to his restaurant. The addition of steak is a game changer. The quality of the meat, attention to preparation and presentation have given Safford a great blessing. This steak is seriously one of the best I have had anywhere in Arizona. You HAVE to try this steak.
I ordered a Margarita pizza which is the pinnacle of pizza making. This one pizza highlights the best ingredients with the fewest added on. It really shows how the pizza maker shows his craft. It was undoubtedly, the best pizza I ever had in that town while I stayed there for three weeks.
If you stop I’m between 11am-2pm they offer a great lunch special which I highly recommend. Photo with the salad and pizza is their lunch special. However, the caprese salad is a bit extra for that option of salad. It also comes with whatever drink you’d like. I got a orange (mandarin) jarritos :).
I wish I could say I felt good about paying the prices but it’s overconfident. I always end up wanting to go and make a better version at home for far less. These towns primarily serving mining families always have something of a cash grab and it’s hard not to feel it here.
It’s good for Safford I suppose but I never feel good about paying the prices versus the quality of food.
Something is off, everyone has a bad night. Three for me aren’t a charm.
How hard is good pasta to make at an Italian restaurant?
The pizza’s – don’t get me started. Cha – Ching.
