So I went to this place before and never had the most terrible experience that I have had today it was new staff very inexperienced and slow food not cooked RIDICULOUS! And when I asked for the manager the manager gets an attitude because her worker is slow and then tries to tell a lie that we came after the restaurant was closed when my cousin ate her full meal and we ordered the same thing and I was still waiting. So much to say that was wrong with this raggedy place!

The food was delicious. The service was great, but the wait was too long. I would suggest a light appetizer during the 45 minute wait for the food. They also need full size glasses for drinks.

Brought a family friend here. Had a pleasant lunch she was good company. The service was okay. A little rough on the start. Food came out frozen. Everything tasted well though. I would like to return and try some other items.

Ever since my mom and auntie moved further away I have turned to restaurants to get food from home. In the past few months I have tried A LOT of places in DC, VA and MD and this place definitely won. Their Cassava Leaf was perfection, sauce Gombo had me licking my finger nails even I live in Virginia but will make the drive here for their food again.

This place was a surprise hit for me. I was extremely hesitant the moment I sat down – the restaurant was empty and dark, and the only entertainment was Dikembe Mutombo’s NBA highlights on loop for two hours straight, lol.
Jollof Rice – Rice, tomato paste, pepper, garlic & onion. It’s a sweeter rice entrée & actually quite enjoyable. I’d recommend adding the goat – it pairs really well.
Apapa Efo Riro – Made with spinach, egusi (ground melon seeds), & fish. This dish was full of flavor & easily the highlight of our dinner.
Fufu – A West African paste made from cassava and green plantain flour. I swapped this in for white rice, and it was a great call. The texture is unique, but it blended perfectly with the Apapa Efo.
Overall – I can see why the reviews are mixed. The service was extremely slow – it took 45 minutes for just 2 entrées & there were only 2 other guests in the restaurant. The ambiance is confusing; I’m not sure what vibe they’re going for.
That said, the food was surprisingly delicious! The menu lacks detail, so you’re better off asking for recommendations. Prices could be a bit lower to attract more customers, but the portion sizes are decent.

That egusi was horrible. The worse one I had. Their jollof is good not too bad, that’s prolly the most descent there. I’m too afraid to try anything else. They are mad expensive tho, whew.

I can only talk about my take out experience. Their menu was straight forward. They did not have snail but they had most of the things I wanted. After I placed my order, I was told it would be ready in 25 minutes and it was. It looked like a nice ambiance for dine in. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the food was okay. The meat pie was huge though.
SN: Food taste is very subjective. So please if you really want to eat there go get a taste, you might like it. But in terms on customer service, they were very cordial and professional and I appreciate that in any buisness.

cassava leaf lacks flavor and the chicken was dry and weird texture. $26 dollars for cassava leaf and they also give a tiny portion of rice.
