I highly recommend stopping by Fernando’s for some of the best Mexican you will find! I have been in Kewanee for work and have had dinner here 3 nights in a row. The Choripollo was delicious and the Guacamole was also so good and fresh! You can tell they use high quality ingredients. Fernando is a super nice guy and you can tell he cares a lot about his customers and his business. Thanks for the great meals and hospitality!

It was really good food. The service was ok with just 2 people, had to ask a few times for queso, but we got it, and the salsa was really good, very savory. The main dish was amazing, very tastie. Other than that it was a very good restaurant.

I now live in Texas, but while I was back home, I made it a point to patronize Fernandos! Partly because they decided to follow the Illinois mitigation measures and partly because for the excellent food and wonderful service!
I visited the restaurant during the week after Easter and was promptly welcomed in and seated. My mom, uncle and aunt joined me. I decided to have the Chimichanga Especial Del Rancho and it was excellent. The chimichanga had the right amount of crispness, the rice was perfect and flavorful and the beans and salad were great, as well!
My uncle had the Chile Verde and he was so pleased that he texted me a picture the next week to let me know he found a new favorite in Kewanee and was dining in again with my aunt.
There are a lot of Tex-Mex choices in Kewanee, but I especially love Fernandos for the excellent hospitality and service and the must-try food!

First time visit and it was delicious! Went here based on reviews and were not disappointed! Our server was super friendly and helpful. Food was amazing. Nice vibe in the place (though we went when it was not busy). Chips and salsa are free. The churros… OMG. Amazing. We don’t live in Kewanee, but if we did, this would be on our regular rotation.
Bathrooms are a little stinky (could be the city plumbing) and lunch was pricier than expected (2 lunch specials, 2 cokes, and churros was $34), but overall, a great lunch!

The owner just replied to my review from year ago and asked me to take my time and make sure i have the correct establishment. I am unable to comment on my previous review or his comment so writing another one. I definetly have the correct business. Your waitstaff don’t remember me from a year ago? That’s understandable. It was a while ago, but everything i wrote in my review was 100% accurate and honest at that time. Like I stated, I hated to give a negative review to a small business, but I would have never gone there to begin with, if someone would have told me beforehand.
