Lovely atmosphere and great service. Beautiful view for sunset from all tables in the restaurant, but book in advance if you want a table by the window with unobstructed views. We walked in at sunset and were seated right away.
The bread and lentil and tomato salsa were excellent. Ordered a bottle of Catrina Zapata Malbec for ARS 51 000 which was delicious. Started with provoleta which was grilled with a nice crust on the edge. Friend had beef with mushroom and mashed potatoes which was a very impressive portion with lots of mushroom sauce and absolutely delicious. Asked for medium rare and perfectly cooked. I had vegetarian pasta with mushroom sauce (plenty of vegetarian options, but this is definitely a restaurant designed around meat). Pasta was tasty and the mushroom sauce was definitely a winner, but wasn’t the best pasta that I’ve had lately.
When seated by the door, I needed to get up repeatedly during dinner to close the front doors as everyone walking through was leaving all three doors wide open despite the cold weather outside for some inexplicable reason.

Don Pichon is a grill restaurant in El Calafate. It has rustic but classy decor and a nice view over the city. The portions are quite generous and tasty. We took the Matambre al Roquefort for my wife and I and it was really plenty for the two of us. We took the provoleta as an appetizer and I took a warm apple pie for dessert. I would recommend this restaurant if you’re extremely hungry and want a meal of deliciously grilled meat!

The best steak I’ve ever had. On point super good portion. The lamb was also outstanding.
I recommend to skip the starters as the portions are generous.
Our only recommendation is to provide better training to waiters in terms of wine, our waiter was not able to describe the wines on the menu. We chose a torrentes as it’s the thing to drink in Argentina when you like white wines and we were lucky it was good one.

There were 6 of us and we loved it here.

Great views while you eat

The lamb casserole wasn’t so flavoursome as we had hoped…. However the portions were huge, the other lamb and steak meals were wonderful.

Fantastic service and brilliant that they offered to drive our friends back to our AirBNB

Thanks folks.

One of the best steaks we had in Argentina! Our favorite was the Ojo de bife (translation in English says it’s sirloin, but I’m pretty sure it’s a ribeye). Delicious and tender piece of meat that comes with chimichurri.

The place has a great view of Lago Argentino and we loved the upscale ambiance. There’s lots of tables and it seems they were able to seat tables immediately through the night.

thank god i had a bit of patience at PDP. dear lord! i’ll take that back: i totally lost every bit of patience in hopes i would get proper service. i did not. why did my appetizer took longer than a glacier to make a move? why was my “bife” saltless (the list of why’s and the minus points continues)? the quick second the bill arrives however i asked if the tip was included — i knew it wasn’t. you should had seen the server’s face. she new she wanted me to press the 20% tip amount and i have not one problem recognizing excellent service. EARN them tips, lady. the potential is there. the attitude isn’t. maxi, the gentleman who drove me to the fabulous venue, was way more gracious than an army of servers who marched past my table and never bother to ask if i needed anything. i did. my bife needed salt. *i got up to leave the dining room, not a single soul bothered to thank me for my visit / business or to invite me back. of course am never coming back.

Nice steak and good value wine. Friendly service. Lovely views across to the Lago Argentino in the distance. Waiter suggested sharing the main as portions were big – glad we did! Also shared the starter and dessert.

This place continues to offer amazing Argentine asados. So good! My family was just there and enjoyed it like we did some 6 years ago.

Great view, the service is very professional. We ordered the parilla X2 which was plentiful we even took some away for another meal the next day. The house wine was delicious and reasonably priced.
The only disappointment was that within the parilla we had 3 pieces of beef, 2 was undercooked and 1 overcooked.
