Wood-fired Neopolitan pizza, pasta & an extensive wine list in an upscale neighborhood trattoria.

I had a weekend trip to Charleston. Hubby made reservations at Renzo for dinner. Reservations are highly recommended as this place is hopping. My spouse is gluten-free and he said the Korean fried chicken was sooooooo good. Our server was very pleasant answering all my questions.
Caesar salad (dressing on the side)
Korean fried chicken
Tartufo specialty pizza
Tiramisu (to go)

we’ve visited Renzo three times now and we genuinely love it. We usually get a pizza, ceasar salad, ricotta gnudi, and a natural wine and it’s hard to branch out after perfecting that combination. They have an impressive natural wine selection that is well curated (not overwhelming) and also begs you to branch out of your usual go-tos, but if you aren’t a wine person they also have bartenders who can make whatever you are looking for. Also, do not sleep on the caesar salad – the texture and flavor of a classic (correctly made) caesar is elevated by crunchy toppings like pepitas and sesame seeds. The service team is lovely and the quality of their ingredients is what truly elevates each dish. Inside is a cozy, elevated neighborhood bar feel. Don’t bother trying to walk in on a Fri/Sat, make a reservation in advance when possible.

First time trying this place and I will definitely be back. The off street parking makes things easy for sure. A walk around Hampton park before eating was very enjoyable if that’s your thing. We got there with reservations no wait. Our waiter Tony was in a classic track suit which was awesome. He was very attentive and made the ordering process easy. We had the empanadas and Caesar salad to start which were both delicious and tasted super fresh. For the table we ordered only pizzas for entrees. The Margarita, the Fiona Apple, the Kevin McAlister and Porca Rosa. Every slice was delicious and the crust was crisp with a great chew. Adding a side of hot honey and ranch was an absolute must. Overall the experience was great the music was top notch. Please add this place to your TO DO. Will be back!!!

The food at Renzo is excellent. Everything we ordered was beautifully executed and lived up to the hype. The kitchen was short-staffed but still delivered great timing and quality, which was impressive.
Service felt a bit less polished. Our server didn’t introduce themselves or offer much guidance on the menu, and staff couldn’t identify the featured wine when asked. Toward the end of the evening, we were informed the table was needed for an upcoming reservation, which felt somewhat abrupt since no time expectations had been mentioned.
Major kudos to the kitchen, they’re clearly the stars of the show. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Renzo is one of those places that immediately earns a permanent spot on your must-return list. The wood-fired pizzas are beautifully done—light, blistered crusts with just the right balance of char and chew—and the pastas are rich, comforting, and clearly made with care.
But the standout? The gnocchi. Hands down the best gnocchi I’ve had in my life—pillowy, delicate, and perfectly sauced, the kind of dish you keep thinking about long after the plate is gone.
Everything here feels intentional, warm, and deeply satisfying. If you love Italian food done right, Renzo delivers every single time.

Fantastic food! Fantastic atmosphere! Fantastic service (we sat at the bar)! Native New Yorker telling you the pizzas — definitely not New York slices — were great, including the French onion pie. The pasta was homemade and hearty, and the ricotta dish, my Brooklyn-born and -raised Italian-American wife says, was one of the best dishes she has ever eaten. Can’t recommend it enough, though I don’t want to ruin its locals vibe.

Super dope place we went to on a Saturday night. Staff were friendly and attentive. Unbeknownst to us we were there during happy hour. Got the miso, and Roman meatballs which were delish. We followed that up with a margarita pizza which was just perfect. Only negative is the parking but if you live in Charleston you know how to overcome and figure it out.

Neighborhood pizza spot you have to check out! Limited seating so make a reservation, have patience to wait or arrive early to snag some bar seats. Staff has been nothing but kind to us over the years whether we’re grabbing to go or dining in! Also, we’ve never had an experience here that was a “miss”. 11/10 every time – service, food, environment, etc. Our favorites: their margarita pizza with a side of hot honey, lemon potatoes and blueberry budino.
Parking recommendation: it’s downtown and on a street with limited parking, so find a spot in the neighborhood and enjoy the walk if able bodied, if not i’d recommend ubering or dropping your party member(s) off at the door.

I am usually a harsh critic on Google Reviews, so I don’t usually like to give 5 stars. But, I saw Renzo does have a bunch of reviews so I figured I wouldn’t be as harsh. 5 stars for Renzo!
The French Onion pizza was spectacular. My mom and brother got wine, and that looked pretty good.
My only complaint is we ordered some meatballs off of the happy hour menu and they were tiny… like super tiny… like penny sized. And I like to eat. But now I know the pizza is better bang for my buck.
I enjoyed the pizza, the service, and the environment!
No complaints, I would come back!
