Steak ‘n Shake, a classic American brand, was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois by Gus Belt who pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milkshakes.
For over 85 years, the company’s name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word steak stood for steakburger. The term shake stood for hand-dipped milkshakes. Gus was determined to serve his customers the finest burgers and shakes in the business.
Today, Steak ‘n Shake remains the better burger leader, serving premium 100% beef steakburgers, hand-dipped milkshakes, thin crispy fries, and more. Steakburgers are made without preservatives or artificial ingredients, topped with fresh produce, and always hand-crafted to order.
Chain known for steakburgers & milkshakes offering a dinerlike space with retro flair.

Stopped in for lunch with a friend. He’s not so tech savvy so is the kiosk was a little difficult but I helped him. Only able to order using the kiosk could be in issue but I don’t mind it. Food was good and milk shake was great also.

They say what can we make fresh for you today? Well, my hamburger was anything but fresh. Maybe they put it together when you order it but as I was driving out of the drive-through, I took a bite of the hamburger and it was cold. There’s no way in the world that was cooked fresh..

I haven’t been to a SteaknShake in like five years and it has changed quite a lot! There is no one at the front counter, you have to order your food at a kiosk. And then the drinks are probably the most frustrating things! You have to scan a little ticket and then immediately get your load or whatever. Plenty of times I had to scan my ticket two times before I got anything! But other than that , it was a pretty good experience. The food was very yummy and the milkshake was too!

My family and I love Steak ‘n Shake; it’s the best place for burgers, fries, and milkshakes. We always order the kids’ meals for our children. We enjoy the Western BBQ burger, cheese fries, and the cotton candy milkshake is the best!

Ron helped us from the moment we walked through the door and explained how the systems worked and talked us through them which was great.
He was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for him, which by him doing this makes us feel valued !!
Food was very nice and not so expensive.
As we are from the UK unsure if we will be back ( maybe on another trip )
but it’s well worth a visit !!

If we are going to have to wait an unexpected amount of time, atleast greet your customers at the drive thru window, Like Chick-fil-A. Everything is great except your customer Service

It was my first time having a steak and shake and getting served by a man called Dominic, he was the nicest man to help us choose what we wanted. I’m a from the uk so was talking about Spudman (Social Media) and honestly made my trip and mine and my other half’s experience 10x better.
Thank you Dominic for your service

Not sure why they have the rating they do. I personally had a wonderful experience yesterday.
I went in, asked to pay cash, they directed me to the self pay that takes cash, I ordered the #1 with a milkshake since I already had some lemonade with me. Everything was delicious.
The employees are very nice and welcoming. My opinion is that Steak ‘N Shake tastes better and is less expensive than 5 Guys.
