Having been for Sunday lunch, thought we’d try an evening meal. The food was really good, very rich and well made. A pie was enough for me and I have a good appetite. The bar wasn’t packed but there was a table who had clearly been enjoying themselves for a while! The dining area is much more suitable for a quiet evening meal chatting. Definitely one of the best for good quality British food in the area.

We came here on Saturday night, we had a wonderful meal and the service was brilliant. The brown butter and carrot risotto was really special and the turkey and bacon suet pie was delicious! So impressed all round, really made our weekend away. Thank you so much Katie and Amy for the brilliant service, felt warm and friendly.

My Partner and I recently visited The Lamb Tavern as we were staying in the area, and what a charming little spot this is! We were drawn in by the good food reviews and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The quality of the food was exceptional, and the care/attentiveness shown in the presentation did not go unnoticed.

I ordered the battered halloumi sticks for starter, the slow cooked beef brisket cottage pie for mains and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The portions were perfect and we left feeling full, happy and contented.

Shout out to our amazing server, Jem, who was so lovely and friendly. She had the best chat and gave us great food recommendations. This is a must-go place in the area, very reasonably priced, and the best food we’d eaten on our trip. Thank you so much for your hospitality, we’ll definitely be back!

Had lunch last Friday with friends, food was excellent, we had a steak, venison suet pie and the fishcakes. All really well cooked and presented. Service very friendly and well kept beers. We’ll certainly be back!

We had a fabulous lunch at The Lamb today. The suet crust pie and halibut main dishes were absolutely delicious. The pub has a lovely atmosphere, it was warm and welcoming on a damp day and made all the better by great service from Jemima who couldn’t have been more friendly and efficient. Thank you!

First time visit. Won’t be the last. The service from the staff, particularly Mollie, was outstanding and truly welcoming. The food was freshly cooked and lovely, even the butter and bread was made in-house by the exceptional chef. Fyi, The Venison & mushroom pie tasted great.

Great venison and mushroom pie.
I’m a regular in the villagers’ corner to catch up with friends, but didn’t fancy cooking on Wednesday night, so treated myself to Nathan’s venison and mushroom pie with mash (green stuff was available, but I turned it down).
I was warned it would take about 25 minutes as it is cooked fresh from scratch.
It was well worth the wait – I’ll definitely have it again before it goes off the menu.

Since moving to the area, my husband Mike and I have visited The Lamb roughly four times in a month! That should tell you enough really. The pub itself is old and beautiful and fortunately there is no background music. You can eat in the bar or in the restaurant. The food is varied and wonderful, and always presented beautifully, thanks to Nathan and his kitchen team, but a special mention needs to be made re the front of house staff. Katie, Molly, Jemima and all of the waiting team are simply fantastic. From the consistently friendly, smiley greeting to helping with any and every request, they are unfailingly happy, polite and helpful. Even when very busy, they don’t make you feel rushed and will share a joke and always take trouble to say goodbye.
We can’t recommend it highly enough. As a country pub, it is exactly what they should all be. We will keep coming

A lovely place in the countryside. Delicious food, all of it. We had a saucy burger, a tasty lamb pie, and a mouthwatering bread&butter pudding with apricot.

Had the Sunday roast, slow cooked pork belly, certainly filled me up. Service was excellent, others had the lamb, a roast cauliflower dish, also Hake and chips and chicken burger and chips. Vegetables and roast potatoes were served separately.
