Great spot for a quick slice. The pizzas are huge and they reheat them perfectly so the crust still has a little crisp and the cheese is nice and melty. The pepperoni had good flavor and the plain cheese was classic and satisfying — exactly what you want when you’re grabbing pizza by the slice.
The atmosphere is super cool and unique with all the murals and the car booth seating.
Prices are a little high for a slice. Definitely a fun place to stop when you want something fast, casual, and filling.

We stopped here after having a great experience at the downtown location. Unfortunately that one was closed for maintenance so we decided to drive to this location to enjoy one more slice before heading home.
I wish we could have our money and time back because this experience was awful!
When we walked in, no one was at the counter and it took him a bit to finally see customers were waiting. As we started ordering, he asked us to hold on because he was new (which is totally understandable) and after ordering, he said it would be a 20 minute wait for our slices.
Our friend got her slice of cheese 20 minutes later and we sat for another 25 minutes with no food.
While we were waiting, I watched the cashier smoke from his vape while making the pizzas, which is completely unhygienic and disgusting.
While the food was okay at best (once it finally arrived) the service and the atmosphere were awful. It was extremely loud, limited seating and while eating we were approached by two different people asking if we would buy food for them.
Two of the six drinks were out of service, the cup lids/forks/straws are directly next to the trash can and their bathrooms are disgusting.
After our downtown trip, I was excited for more and even bought a sweatshirt.
After this experience, I’m excited to fly back home and get as far away from this location as possible.
I wouldn’t recommend eating here, ever.
Save your money and choose a place who actually cares about cleanliness and service because this place isn’t it.
Very, very disappointed!

**EDITED** (To answer the owner’s questions) We visited on March 5, 2026 and our order was placed at 6:17pm. I have added a photo of our receipt for you.

Mobile order for carry out. Ordered a cheesesteak and paid for extra meat and extra wiz. Walked in 5 minutes before the order was scheduled to be ready. Let staff know my name/order number and sat down adjacent to the service counter. After 33 additional minutes I approached the counter again, only to find that my sandwich had been finished and hanging out under the heat lamp for 25 minutes. During that 33 minutes, they served only one slice of pizza to a couple dining in. That couple was dining-in before I arrived and the staff apologized for the delay on that slice even though I witnessed that their slice was in the staging cabinet for 10 minutes after I got there. Long story short—they were not busy—at all. I got curious and had them check on my order after half an hour and sure enough, my sandwich was under the heat lamp. I tipped 20% and took my food home. I opened my “extra meat and extra cheese” sandwich when I got home and this is what it looked like. I called to voice my dissatisfaction and they did offer to refund my order if I physically returned the sandwich. Sorry but I’ve wasted enough time on you. It’s worth the 20 bucks to never walk in there again. Enjoy the little 20% gratuity you got for erasing a repeat customer. Seriously, you can’t have terrible service AND a sammy that looks like this after up charging for extra meet and cheese.

Unfortunately I can’t give this particular Spinelli’s location anymore stars. I’ve tried giving them the benefit of the doubt but I just can’t anymore, especially after my experience with them the other night. It just solidified all the other bad experiences that I’ve had with them in the past that I had chosen to “overlook”. It’s just poor service here and the food unfortunately is worse. I am a part time delivery driver at night. I usually finish around 1:30 am/2 and when I’m done with my deliveries typically im starving by then and wanting to get something to eat from somewhere and there’s not much left to really choose from around me by that time besides like Taco Bell or Burger Boy. With that said, I placed a take out order with them the other night for some chicken fingers and fried Oreos. I was just down the street when I placed my order then I went on in so I knew my order was still going to be 5 to 10 minutes still probably until it would be ready. When I walked in nobody was upfront. Behind the desk and the register or dining area so I just sat down and started going through my phone and just politely sat down and waited thinking somebody would at least greet me or ask if they could help me when they did come back to the desk but no one ever did. The dude working the front desk apparently seemed like he couldn’t have cared less there was a customer sitting alone waiting for something because by the time he did walk back to the front desk he just ignored the fact that I was even there, he kept walking to the back, side, bathroom and back upfront again. Not a hello, how are you, can I help you? Nothing…
So I just waited, and I waited and waited, until I finally got up and stepped to the desk hoping to catch him to ask him about my order when another guy had peeped around the corner and politely asked me if I was there to pick up an order and I said yes my name’s Amber so he looked at dude and asked him about it and low and behold there was my lone order just sitting there by itself ready and nobody asked me if it was mine or why I was there just sitting in their dining area alone, Nothing! By this time a good 20 minutes or so had gone by, idk how long it was just sitting there waiting for me but it was cold by the time I got it so I knew it had to be there for a minute. I was just so hungry, tired and aggravated at that point I just wanted to get home and eat. That was the worst experience I had had with them thus far. All the other times was just mediocre service and food but it takes a lot for me to even “complain” because I am a easy going and understanding type person. I get it, it’s late, I’ve worked in places like this establishment before in the past so I know and they’re probably tired too ect. But this was just so blatant I felt compelled to write this review.
I paid $18.55 for my food. Here’s a picture of what I got after all that ….
Spinelli’s in the Highlands, please, do better….

Spending the night in Louisville tonight, super happy to find a place open late with so many great options. We wound up getting the plain cheese pizza & mozzarella sticks. Service was quick, food was delicious. Really awesome atmosphere to sit down and eat in. Can’t wait to come back again!

I don’t leave a lot of food reviews, but because I’ve been eating here for years, I figured I would drop a review on this place. It’s the ONLY place in town that I’ve found that makes a good vegan pizza. With that said, I have to be honest about the negatives:

The price is on the higher side, but I understand the vegan ingredients are pricey, so I let that slide. The turnover rate here must be insanely high, because every time I walk in, they have a different crew. Problem with this is that quality varies each time I go in. Some of them care about making a good pie, some of them don’t.

The first picture (holding the slice) was from December. It’s a good quality pie. The second picture was from last week. The crust was carelessly made, the sauce lays bare all the way up to the edge of the crust in some areas, it looks like a rhino nutted cheese all over the middle, and some of those slices had maybe 1 or 2 pieces of sausage while others had the bulk.

Again, I love the pizza here, but it’s a coin flip every time I walk in on whether I’m getting a good pie or not. I hope management fixes this, because I know there are some good workers here that actually care about making a good pie, but the ones who don’t care are tarnishing the place’s rep.

We aren’t from Louisville, so we had no idea what to expect. We were just craving pizza. The place has a super alternative vibe, hippy type atmosphere. The sign out front says they are open until 5am. Upon entering it definitely gives the vibes this is the spot to be about 2am and you’re looking for some food after a late night. The girl at the counter was pleasant. There didn’t seem to be table service at all. She handed us a paper menu and we ordered at the register. The pizza was pretty good in my opinion. We got a large all meat pizza, cheese bread and 1 of us got a soda. The check was a little over $50. A bit expensive to be honest, but the food was pretty decent. Their “dining room” wasn’t particularly comfortable. Table seating with stools. Fountain sodas to get your own drinks. The dining room was decorated in skulls, skeletons and a half naked mural of Burt Reynolds’s. Definitely different. Not really our vibe, but oh well. The bathroom was gender neutral and very dirty. I wouldn’t even take my daughter in there. We left and looked for a restroom elsewhere. I don’t do M/F restrooms and I definitely don’t do dirty ones.

The highlands is a really artsy and eclectic place to be, The pizza was better here than the downtown location and less likely to get shot at this one. Really liked it here and want to bring my son to the area when it gets warm outside again. I think he’ll love all the colors ❤️

Other than a 25 minute wait turning into a 50 minute wait. The pizza was okay. Can you please hold the burnt, charred, pizza oven debris?? Not very appetizing. Also, I think yall need someone besides Stevie Wonder doing the toppings.
