Dining at Red Lobster in Orland Park after many years turned out to be a surprisingly exceptional experience. The restaurant delivered on nearly every front, from food quality to service, making the evening memorable despite the rising costs.

Food Quality

• Blackened Salmon: Perfectly seasoned with a smoky, savory crust that enhanced the natural flavor of the fish. Moist and flaky inside, it was one of the standout dishes of the night.
• Shrimp Scampi: Classic and comforting, with garlic butter sauce that was rich without being overpowering. The shrimp were tender and cooked just right.
• Lobster Tails: Sweet, succulent, and served with drawn butter, they lived up to the indulgence expected from Red Lobster’s signature offering.
• Breaded Shrimp: Crispy, golden, and satisfying, with a light breading that didn’t overwhelm the shrimp itself.
• Cheddar Bay Biscuits: Still the undisputed star of the table. Warm, fluffy, and cheesy, they remain one of the best bread rolls in casual dining.
• Salad: Fresh, crisp, and well-balanced, proving that even the simplest items were handled with care.
• Berry Sangria: Sweet, fruity, and refreshing, it paired nicely with the seafood and added a festive touch to the meal.

Drinks & Value

The sangria was delightful, but the overall bill reflected how much prices have climbed. Two people enjoying two drinks and two Ultimate Feasts came to $143. It’s noticeably more than what I remember paying in the past, but the quality of the food and the portion sizes made it feel worthwhile. Red Lobster is clearly positioning itself as a more premium casual dining option.

Service

Service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Our server kept drinks filled, checked in at the right times, and ensured everything arrived promptly.

Atmosphere

Surprisingly, the restaurant was not crowded for a Saturday night. We were seated immediately, which made the evening feel relaxed and unhurried. The quieter environment allowed us to enjoy the meal without the usual bustle of weekend dining.

Overall Impression

Red Lobster in Orland Park has managed to maintain its reputation for quality seafood while elevating its execution. The food was consistently excellent, the service was solid, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Prices have gone up, but the value is still there for those seeking a satisfying seafood experience without traveling far.

Final Verdict: Exceptional food, reliable service, and a comfortable setting. While the cost may surprise longtime patrons, the quality makes it worth the splurge.

My wife and I have been a Red Lobster customer since 1979. We always enjoy the great food. We were at this location on New Years Eve and this particular evening we had invited our family to. There was a total of 7 of us celebrating two birthdays. Unfortunately, this location should have been closed due to major roof issues we encountered. Once seated, I noticed that there were several ceiling tiles missing. Not just a few however enough ceiling tiles missing that appeared to be a construction project was in progress and deemed a “Hard Hat Area” due to safety concerns. After we ordered our drinks and food, our server returned and advised one of my sons that what he ordered they were out of. My son selected another item, and the server acknowledged him and left the table. Our food came to our table with the exception of our sons. His food did not arrive until the rest of my family finished their meals. Now comes the worst part. While my son was eating, my wife felt a drip. The drip developed into water streaming from the ceiling onto her jacket and on the seat next to her. This escalated onto several other patron tables, the isles and the bar area. We overheard other patrons talk to the manager and the managers response was that she could not do anything about the water leak issues. My family and I were expecting to also have desert for our celebration however due to the escalating water issues with the ceiling, we had to depart early. On a positive note, our server Yosahandi, was very pleasant and she did her best to accommodate my family and I and hope RL would pass that on to her during that difficult time for the evening at that restaurant. I noticed here on Google that this restaurant location is now closed.

The gift card purchase having issues isn this locations problem or fault.

The watery chicken Alfredo definitely is their issue.
The Togo seafood boil was done well. Signed this Louisiana native.
Red Lobster is truly trying to run the bill with some boils not coming with sausage but offering that social media boiled egg (which never happened before socials and nope not judging just explaining that is not boil recipe or standard). They did well with the dip offerings and recipes plus even better with the cleaning of their crabs offered in the boil.

This is not my first visit to Red Lobster but my first to this location. I am a little disgusted. First I was informed that there was no wine (chardonnay) but later they did find it. I ordered Mahi fish but it turned out that there was no wine. The grilled trout was dripping with some kind of fat. I do not recommend the seafood stuffed mushrooms. The mushrooms were smaller than a fingernail. If you want fast food this may be a good place – a little better than another chain.

Everything was amazing from the fresh biscuits, fresh and hot food, and service. When I walked in the manager was working assisting and talking to customers at bar area and answering the phone and then assisted the host with preparing to sit us. My server was Ashton and he was beyond great his customer service skills was amazing he made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our dinner without asking. Ashton needs a raise or a bonus. He wasn’t great he was beyond amazing. Thank you Ashton for your amazing service and I wish you the best in school and your future career.

The food was delicious!
The service was a little slow.
We were in at around 3pm left the place around 4:45pm.
I wish I could rank them higher but they did mess up our order ( we asked for 1 thing and got something completely else). I usually wouldn’t care but they the server said they would fix it and bring us out what we ordered but they never did so we were left with the anticipation of that.

Omg first of entering location my family and I was greeted with grace and smiles. As we sat down our waitress Yosa was nothing short of amazing. She was attentive and on point with checking in on us. Her customer service was beyond and above everything and I worked in food service. She really was so sweet and amazing you rarely catch people like that. Thank you from the Nicholas family. We left you a $50 tip for your great service. Continue to be great Yosa and blessings to you.

No host to greet you upon entering. Had to wait although there were very few customers. There were double the servers to customers. Restaurant was cold because the ceiling tiles were missing and cold air was blowing ovehead. I asked to be seated in a warmer area, but no area was warm. How could it be ? Three tables was cleared, but not one was wiped off. Each dirty table was presented to me to sit at, but I refused. I could see that the table top was dirty. Why did the host not see this?
It took the server a lot of time to do and/or get everything to the table. Ex: A long wait before coming to my table to take my order, waited for napkins, wipes, silverware. A fork and knife provided for an ice cream dessert; no spoon. As a result, food got cold waiting on needed things to eat. Also, the broccoli was over cooked; too soft and biscuits not covered on top with a napkin to keep them warm so they were served cold and hard.

Overall, this location can do much better. No attention to dining details. Appears to be a training issue. No thought given to how a dining experience should be. A fork for ice cream. The benchmark should be higher than placing food on a table and leaving.
