Enjoyed this brunch place. I got an omelette which was good/classic. Added chicken sausage, but I wish they had turkey sausage which I find to be tastier. Multigrain bread was yummy. Recommend switching hashbrowns for tater tots! The famous French toast is delicious but quite heavy since it’s fried. I had 1/3 of it and was stuffed.

Price was reasonable for Seattle. Bonus points for clean bathroom.

Wouldn’t say it’s my favorite brunch place ever, but it’s better than all the other brunch I’ve had in Seattle.

Like a flashback from the early 2000s, this place took me by surprise. What a celebration of flavors and textures! At a glance, the dishes may seem simple, but they are perfected down to every ingredient. Pictures won’t do it justice. Having grown up in the southeast, these are the meals I grew up on, but better. These aren’t your grandmas French toast. They are the ideal version she always wishes it to be. Do yourself a favor, and take your whole family here. Expect a wait, but know it will be worth it. The staff are honest, pleasant, wholesome and the food is of the highest quality. Love!!!

The French toast was amazing. Fluffy on the inside, lightly crispy on the outside, and the blueberry compote was sweet and delicious. Portions were large, and the food was comforting and filling. Service was fast and efficient. A great breakfast stop.

Tried their spinach feta cheese omelette which was great and basil pesto scramble which was exceptional, very different concept. It was delicious and fresh. They make their own raspberry jelly to give with the toast which was very fresh. Robert, our server was very warm and welcoming and explained the menu really well as this was our first visit to Geraldine’s. Would definitely come back to try other things on the menu.

Geraldine’s Counter is pure Columbia City soul. This breakfast hit exactly the way it needed to — crispy golden hash browns, soft jalapeño scrambled eggs, and toasted sourdough that tastes like home. No filters, no tricks… just real, honest, Seattle comfort.

But what makes Geraldine’s iconic isn’t just the food — it’s Sherwin and Stacey. These two pour into the neighborhood with a level of love and loyalty you can taste. They support local kids, uplift small businesses (including my own, Brain & Body Recess), and treat every guest like family.

This restaurant is a community anchor — the kind of place where you walk in heavy and leave lighter. If you want breakfast that feels like legacy, belonging, and the best of 98118… this is it.

Went just before closing and it was busy, but still got greeted with a smile and was seated right away! Server was super bubbly and sweet! I tried the daily pancake special(applesauce pancake with cinnamon butter-delicious!). The only down thing was my partner ordered a sausage patty and I don’t think it was cooked properly. Other than that, can’t wait to go back and try something else!

I’ve visited this place three times including during busy hours and the wait has always been around 15 minutes. The food is okay but it doesn’t really match the hype and the French toast was so harder than expected (couldn’t even bite in lol). Everything’s also on the pricier side. The service was good on one visit but the other two times the server seemed a bit unfriendly and uninterested. Overall it feels inconsistent and overrated.

French toast was crispy and really quite amazing. Country fried steak was covered in a really good gravy that’s one of the better ones I’ve tried. The food just feels better made than other diners in the city. We came right when the restaurant opened so it was quite empty. Can image over the weekends the crowd will build up quite quickly.

When my brother suggested we go to Geraldine’s Counter for a late lunch, I was quite hesitant. It was 1:50pm and we were in North Seattle. The place closes at 3pm and it was Memorial Day, so I was worried that we would not get served so close to closing time. My brother told me it was worth the try, and that I would like it. He was not wrong. We split a half order of the French toast, I ordered the casserole, and he had the chicken fried steak. With coffee, a lemonade, and a side of bacon, the bill was not cheap, but yes, I would say it was worth it! The food was excellent, well presented, and the staff were extremely friendly, despite our late arrival. Columbia City is a little far to go for a meal, but I would definitely do it again.

I’ve been coming to Geraldine’s Counter for over 15 years, and the food is as consistent and comforting as ever. Their special today, sour cream pancakes with blueberry butter was out of this world… fluffy, slightly tangy, and perfectly balanced with the sweet butter. The sourdough toast with jam is also a must, thick cut, toasted just right, and paired with the best jam I’ve ever had. You can truly taste the love and care in everything they serve.

Be prepared for a bit of a wait, especially during peak hours but it’s always worth it. The staff are kind, the portions are generous, and the vibe is cozy and welcoming. A true neighborhood gem.
