Reviews
Food-wise, this restaurant truly shines. The fried goat cheese and kale salad was outstanding, and the fried oyster salad was equally impressive and full of flavor. We also tried the gumbo, which ended up being our least favorite dish of the meal — not bad by any means, just not as memorable as the other items. The loaded Bloody Mary was decent, though it had quite a bit of ice, leaving less actual drink than expected.
The bar seating was comfortable, service was attentive, and the staff was friendly throughout. We didn’t make a reservation and ended up sitting at the bar, so I would highly recommend making reservations if you plan to dine here, especially for brunch. Overall, Atchafalaya is a fantastic New Orleans brunch restaurant with great food, live music, and a welcoming atmosphere, and it’s definitely a place I would return to.
The service here is top-notch; the servers are very proactive, they explain the menu well, and they never rush you. I had the Lowcountry Shrimp & Grits and the Gumbo Du Jour soup, and both were absolutely amazing. Even small touches, like the butter they brought for the bread, were fantastic.
A couple of crucial tips for your visit: This is a costly spot, so I highly recommend saving it for your special days or occasions. And most importantly, reservations are essential! This place gets filled up fast, so make sure you book well in advance.
For incredible Contemporary Creole food, stellar service, and a charming, romantic atmosphere, Atchafalaya is a guaranteed win. It’s an experience worth planning for.
The service was also wonderful, everyone was very friendly and attentive
The blue cheese flan was also tasty but a bit too sweet for our taste.
We were capricious to sit outside- the weather was a lovely chill not often experienced in South Florida. Everyone on the team was gracious about it, even though it was gelid. Thank you for that. It is a magical establishment inside as well.
Dined here back in October and I’m still thinking of this dish. Will be back, next time I get the chance. Should you have a chance to visit- don’t miss it!
Wonderful cozy, charming atmosphere. Servers are friendly and attentive. Now let’s get to the food… outstanding! Had brunch here – highly recommend the duck hash. My friend had the huevos rancheros. Fresh and flavourful. Coffee was sold and refills offered regularly.
Reservations recommended. Even on a Monday, we grabbed one of the last reservations.
Vegetarian food wasn’t the easiest to come by in NOLA, so I was super excited that they had a vegetarian entree that clearly had some thought put into it. The cabbage steak was absolutely amazing. My partner really enjoyed the fish dish he got, too. Service was above and beyond here!
