The colors, music and decor are a definite throwback to an earlier time. Plenty of seating and super friendly staff round out a decent meal. It’s an open floor plan so the kitchen is visible which gives good comfort to those worried about cleanliness, which this place just edges on accomplishing. Great stop for a quick bite but easy to miss because of its location.

The food was good overall. He service was a little off because half of our table was served then the other half about 4 minutes later and it was our children that received their food late. The bacon on my burger was leathery and stale not crispy like fresh bacon. The did have a clear system to socially distance patrons. The servers and kitchen staff were not wearing masks. IDK if that is required in this county. The food was good I would go back again and give it a second try.

Speedy service, professional and above all delicious food and delightful atmosphere. I would highly recommend this particular highway 55 to anyone who loves great burgers and friendly staff and waitresses. Justin went above and beyond to make sure our experience was pleasant. Overall this was my best lunch in a long time thanks to everyone that works at this restaurant ! Will definitely be back for more !!!!!

I went to HWY 55 today expecting quick and delicious food. Well the waitress that took my order was not friendly and I was not firmilar with their menu. It came off as an attitude from the waitress because I’m double checking my order and asking questions. It took awhile just to even get the food after we ordered. When we finally get our food. Me and my daughter got 2 shrimp platters. Usually its a good helping. We barely got any. When I went inside I asked for a refund. Not one person apologized or try to make it right. The services and the entire experience was terrible.

Order lunch today and had it delivered to my office today from the James City location. We normally order from the New Bern store because it is closer to us. The last time we ordered from the New Bern store the food was awful and no one really ate. So today we took advantage of the deliver option at the James city location and the food was on point! Best cheeseburger I have had in a while and the delivery person was so sweet! So if your working like us and want some great food! Make sure to order from the James City store! Way to go team and keep up the great work!

We went a few months back and everything was awesome. Maybe their “B”or maybe “C” crew was working tonight. There was about four spoon fulls of mayo on my burger and the fries were just about the worst we’ve had. Employees standing around doing nothing. My order to go was cooked and then sat for who know how long before the cashier realized it was mine. And with all the Covid mess you would think employees would be wearing masks, but not one of the seven employees I seen had one on. I asked the cashier about it and she stated they weren’t required. Very disappointing. Won’t be back.

Really disappointed The service and food are usually spot on. However, both were poor! Two waitresses and only one was actually taking care of customers. The other was talking to her boyfriend at the counter. Three cooks and the food was still poorly made. I was really disappointed because the family and I frequently visit the chain and get great service along with decent food. Also the manager didn’t seem to care what was going on and loudly complained about the staff! Would not recommend this place!

My husband Robert Cross Sr, my son Robert Jr and I went there tonight, we live in Havelock and in search of a good meal, been without power for 6 days, all is well because we are still alive.. They were super busy and customers constantly coming in. The service was amazing. Everyone was very friendly even in the midst of the busyness. They apologized for the wait, considering how slammed they were, I didn’t think I waited that long. Thank you for a great meal and excellent service. God bless you!

My boyfriend and I got lunch no body was there very slow his burger was over cooked and bun was burnt normally we love this place but was very disappointed in the quality of the food. my waitress dropped our Dr. Pepper bottle on the floor gave it to us and Informed us not to open it right away leaving us with a flat soda. Most likely will not go back
