Cozy little spot with friendly service. My 1st time here, so I can’t speak for the rest of the menu yet. The elder there was very pleasant and welcoming. She said when I co.e back, she’ll have some more recommendations for me.

Cool desserts, good service. I went there because I saw desserts earlier but never tried any. Even though the reviews are mixed I decided to give it a try (I didn’t try their hot food yet). I got their Viet desserts to go. I don’t have much experience with Vietnamese desserts to know how the quality compares to other bakeries, but I personally enjoyed the taste. I got a cassava cake and a sweet bread. I don’t know the Vietnamese name for the bread. I was the only non-Vietnamese person there and many customers were eating phở and other soups. It felt very authentic. I will be back to try their hot food.

We stopped by Ai Hue Bakery in the Twin Cities to grab some snacks for the road. The area felt a little sketchy, but parking was fine. Service was okay — not overly friendly, but we got what we needed.

They had a nice variety of Vietnamese snack options, including xôi (sticky rice) and chè (sweet dessert soup), which we enjoyed. We also picked up a few bánh mì, though the selection was limited. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a visible menu, so we had to ask for prices on everything, which made ordering a bit awkward.

Overall, it’s a decent stop if you’re craving Vietnamese snacks and don’t mind a no-frills experience.

Prices are great. Service is friendly. Food is good overall and a reliable choice. However, it doesn’t quite stand out or offer anything that sets it apart from similar dishes I’ve had elsewhere.

Bahn mi was sadly underwhelming. Almost no meat(shredded pork and grilled pork), barely any cilantro or sauce. The other food I order was good so 3 stars.

Edit: I appreciate your reply, I will try your restaurant again in the near future and hope I can have the enjoyable experience others have had.

Restaurant is hidden in the back of the alley way off university Ave. Lady at the counter greeted and suggested to sit anywhere. Service was good can’t complain as she was the only one upfront handling another customer and myself.
The pho had this weird taste that I couldn’t put my taste buds on. It wasn’t beefy nor pho seasoning. Seemed like my taste buds went missing after tasting the broth bc I couldn’t even taste the meats nor the hoison and chili peppers that I added in. It was strange. The noodles were cooked al dente.

We have been going here since I was a kid. It feel very small family owned . Not an easy place to find if you’re not looking for it . Small restaurant but honestly they have the best bun bo hue in town plus I love getting sweet desserts here and bánh mì sandwiches. This is the hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant to get excellent Vietnamese food.

I had the Bun Bo Hue which is the spicy beef noodle soup.
It was a mild spicy for me, but the flavor is pretty good.
My friend had the Bun Bi Tom Thit Nuong.
We both like the grilled pork. Noodle tasted amazing after adding the fish sauce.
Great experience with food for the first time. Will come back to try others next time!

Ai Hue is one of my favorite pho and mi (egg noodle) restaurants in the Twin Cities. The broth is so good, and the portion is perfect. Highly recommend!

The name is confusing bc I initially thought it was a deli and bakery. But it’s actually a full-on restaurant. Pho and bun bo hue is pretty average. Expected a little more flavor, especially with the bun bo hue. I’ll skip the bahn mi next time. Not much meat and no pate, even though I asked for extra. The parking and entrance are in the back of the restaurant. Overall food was at best 3.5 stars out of 5.
