My absolute favorite. I grew up in Gainesville going to the original weekly, I would get the smoked turkey plate with French fries, baked beans , and garlic bread, and make it all into one big sandwich. It still holds up, love that there is the same nostalgic taste after all these years.
These days the chopped brisket and pulled pork have my heart. I always get the loaded tots with chopped brisket, but get an additional 1/4 pound of pulled pork on the side to add to the tater tots. Can’t be beat.
The dry rub ribs are my favorite ribs I’ve ever had, falling off the bone, delicious. The jalapeño cheddar sausage also can’t be missed. I’ve recently been introduced to the corn nuggets, they are out of this world.
I live in Chicago now and it’s really hard to find barbecue that’s any good. I drive home to visit family a lot, and while I pass a couple of Sonny’s throughout Kentucky, the Corbin location is hands down the best, I have never been disappointed here.
And the drive through is a great option when I don’t have time to stop:)
Ps original sauce is best but you can by gallon jugs of the sweet sauce at Sam’s club.

I ordered the combo with chicken pork and turkey. The pork came out in a greasy heap. The pulled chicken had a very hard one inch piece in it that you could tap on the table and make noise with it. See photo. No way it was edible. Our waitress explained that today’s meat would be shredded for future pulled meats. That hard piece of meat had to have been in that pot a lot of days for it to get that hard. Left over mushy and greasy meat in a heap. Yuk. We will not be returning. PS the beverages were served in Styrofoam cups. Even our hot tea was in a Styrofoam cup.

Good BBQ. I had the slider trio & fries. The pulled pork was definitely the star of the trio. The brisket was good, nice flavor and fairly tender. The chicken tasted good but was a little on the dry side. The fries seemed to be the frozen variety, not bad but they could do better. I would definitely eat here again and try some other sides.

reviews r valid about them ribs i got the baby back and they were really good but not a lot meat on them. sweet tea real good too if i didn’t fill up on sweet potatoes would of got those peach cobbler egg rolls. next time. oh and the toast is really good. my waitress was so kind to me.

We religiously go to Dave’s Steakhouse in Corbin, and have always had a great experience. At the prompting of several friends in Middlesboro, we tried this venue to see if it might become our new favorite restaurant, along with Dave’s. We love pulled pork and chicken, and frequented the Hay Maker in tennessee near LMU. We anticipated something equal or better, but left sorely disappointed.. The food was presented well, with decent portions, but was incredibly greasy, and certain portions were severely dried out, and had the taste and texture of being leftovers. This wasn’t an utter shock, because the waitress explained that the pulled chicken and pork are from the day before. Apparently after it’s smoked she explained on day #1, they shred it, and put it on the menu the next day… sorry, that’s just gross. I admire thriftiness as much as anyone, but not when it comes to food, and when it compromises the Taste, Texture and freshness of the food dramatically. This will definitely not be our new favorite restaurant, and I doubt seriously if we will return again. Leftovers at home are fine sometimes, but not when you’re paying almost $50 for the experience. The sun has set on Sonny’s for us.

We stopped here on the way back from Cumberland Falls. The drive thru was very fast for BBQ and it did not disappoint! Every item on the plate was packed with flavor and the portions were perfect. I highly recommend this place if you’re traveling through or a local who has yet to stop by. This is our new favorite BBQ spot! Great job to Sonny’s BBQ! We WILL see you guys again!

Passing through called ahead for take out they came through in about 10 -15 minutes. Best barbecue take out I can say I ever had. The ribs were falling off the bone the chicken was great. 10/10 highly recommend. I pass through all the time now I know my go to spot for good barbecue. Highly Recommended!

First, let me say walking into this place was absolutely gorgeous! I love the decor. It didn’t take us long to get seated, and drinks delivered to the table. Brad was our waiter… he was amazing! If you stop by this place, definitely ask for Brad. The food was great, but the BBQ sauce was outta this world delicious! I probably could’ve made a meal just out of the sauce. We ordered loaded tots with chopped brisket and the 2 and 4 meats dinner with 2 sides. Everything was delicious. The only thing we didn’t eat was the slaw. It was too sweet for our taste buds, but it was very good. Definitely stop by if you’re around a Sonny’s and check em out!
