The Cali burrito with eggs and pico added, had a majority of french fries. I wasn’t sure if there was eggs in the burrito or cheese. The Cali burrito with steak added beans, and pico was filled with steak. That would be great normally however the steak was not seasoned well. The beans were the tastiest thing in that burrito and there was very little of that. Neither of the burritos got finished because we did not enjoy them. We were just hungry and ate what we bought and the rest went in the trash. I hate to waste food.

The Food:
We ordered a Cali Burrito, a Chicken Quesadilla, and Carne Asada Fries… and wow. Everything was incredibly fresh, packed with flavor, and served in massive portions. This is the kind of food that covers lunch, dinner, and probably lunch again the next day. Every bite was loaded, cheesy, and perfectly seasoned.

The Vibe:
Laid-back, busy, and full of energy. The kind of local spot where everyone knows the wait is worth it. You’ll catch the smell of grilled carne asada before you even step inside, and that’s how you know you’re in the right place.

The Value:
Unmatched. The portion sizes for the price make this a standout. Quality, quantity, and flavor all in one.

Final Word:
It’s worth the wait, it’s worth the trip, and honestly… if it isn’t Cali Tacos, is it even a taco?!

I was excited and pleasantly surprised to see the sign outside the establishment claiming to have San Diego’s best burritos. I lived in San Diego for two years, and I can honestly say that the Mexican food in Orange County does not compare. I ordered the Supreme Fries. The meat was very tasty probably the best around. The fries, however, were average. I was disappointed because I expected sour cream and pico de gallo, but they forgot to include them. The rojo and verde sauces were both good better than Alberto’s, in my opinion. I will definitely try this place again, though next time I’ll make sure to double-check my order before leaving.

Look at the picture. Zoom in there is a hair on The taco. When I took back my food the little girl behind the counter snatched it and handed my money back. No apologies nothing. I use to like this place but I won’t be returning due to the disrespect and hair in my food!

I came in to try the chicken tacos because I’d heard they were chopped pieces instead of shredded. The cashier wasn’t the friendliest, but we were mainly here for the food. The tacos were about $3 each, which at first felt a little pricey. They took around 10 minutes to come out maybe even longer and with no AC inside, we were definitely melting while waiting.
Honestly, it was cooler sitting outside! When the tacos finally arrived, they were loaded with meat, which made us feel better about the price. The flavor was solid, and they were almost double the size of typical taqueria tacos. Other places charge $5 for two smaller tacos, so this felt like a good deal. If I’m in the area again, I’d definitely stop by for some flavorful, generously filled tacos.

Delicious and huge tacos! I was initially a little put out by how much the tacos were and then I got them and can say they’re completely worth the price. This place is a great value and the food is also bomb. Would def come back

Consistently a 5/5 in terms of food quality and flavor, but the insane steady price increases over the past few years bring down to a 4.5/5. Still, I’ll round up to 5/5 in this case to support a local shop.

Service tends to be slow and meh (rare to have great service, usually service is just OK) and the one line to order and pick up once ready makes it awkward and take longer than it should.

Bathroom is in the courtyard have to ask for the key.

The food was average and the service was slow. I was disappointed after driving half an hour to get here. The biggest issue was the layout of the dining area. The kitchen is separated only by a short wall, and the constant clanging of the cook hitting the grill with a spatula became irritating after a while. The place also feels like it’s in a perpetual soft opening sparse and unfinished in its setup. I might give it another try in the future, but the food simply didn’t deliver the “wow” factor that many others seem to claim.

Cali Burrito was good. Tried it with beans inside. The Chipotle sauce you add bite per bite takes the burrito into another dimension. Plenty of sourceam and guacamole inside. A little on the pricey side. A Cali Burrito with a side of chips was $25.00 and some change.
