This was my first time ordering from here, based on the photos posted online, everything looked good and worth trying.
When my delivery arrived, one of the meals was decent. However, when I opened the moi moi packages, I was very disappointed. As shown in the photo, one looked homemade, while the other appeared to be pre-packaged and store-bought. The pre-packaged one did not taste good at all and felt like a complete waste of money.
Out of everything I ordered, only one item actually tasted good. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing, and it will be my first and last time ordering cooked food from here.

Order was complete trash just all rice that was hard with bones with no meat on. I ordered oxtail with goat $28, curry chicken $24, larger oxtails $28. I spent ova $100 on just bones and rice.(unacceptable)All because I wanted oxtails. Do Better Tropicana Never Again

Great lunch specials ($10) hard to find these days to include a beverage as well ( bottle of water ). who cares it’s a deal from every angle. Kinda out the way for us Virginians but well worth the travel. The flavors are true to the Caribbean as what I know of Tropicana. The food portion was on point as well. The service is rated low cause I think it’s a solo dolo operator so it was a bit of a what for the food. However, again it was worth the wait!!! I went for oxtails and jollof rice the plantains were burnt to a crisp and the oxtails didn’t have any meat on them. I called the restaurant after getting home to see if they would rectify the issue but nope and they don’t do refunds. They will never have to worry about seeing me again.

I’m giving 3 stars bcuz I’ve only been here once. My review will help you all get more customers if you take my advice. The egusi soup was extremely dry, and I had to go home and cook it again. You can add yellow bell pepper, meat stock , or liquid of choice if you don’t want the soup to be red. Think of something to do bcuz it’s too thick and dry! Also, $27 for one bowl is ridiculous, the price needs to be reduced. Thank me later.

This was a NYE order. I just wanted some good food to bring in the new year. Third time was NOT the charm. This food was utterly disgusting. I ordered via Uber Eats. The oxtail was just okayish. The rice and peas were flavorless and unseasoned. Thee chicken patty— let’s get into it. I bit it and something tasted horrid. I spit it out immediately. I decided to break the patty in half to see what was inside because the texture was also off. Y’all, I pulled the patty apart and it was SLIMEY, yes, SLIMEY. The inside had white specks. After I gagged from the vision and the smell, I took a picture. I will never patron this establishment again. I am still disgusted. They served flavorless, plain, inauthentic, old/outdated food.

I ordered food from them it was delivered in a trash bage and was juice spilled all in the bag then I looked at the food and realized why it was in a trash bag. It tasted like garbage no seasoning rice under cooked and hard oxtails were so tough the whole meal was not edible I wish I could give them 0 stars

First time customer I would have accepted your prices if the food was I order peanut soup and bitter leave soup. First you could have used bigger containers for the prices of the the food. Second the peanut has no flavor just spicy. Third the bitter leaf soup is over powered by the smell of the smoke fish , I should have just ordered smoked fish . Fourth the bitter leaf soup has no flavor. I will not be back to taste anything else there I should have went with my first choice and went next door. Figure out what really brings in the money and just focus on that. If you know how to make Birria Tacos you would make a ton of money. The meat has to have flavor and the consomme’ must be flavorful. Anyway get rid of the African cuisine if it’s not bringing in money.

I call the place and speak to an woman and tell her about the food. She tells me they just cooked the oxtail (which wasn’t even done) and the chicken patty was made recently. You can from those pictures that was not the case. Don’t patronize this place please
