Overall, 100% recommend! Good job
The view is beautiful, with background music.
Go there for the drinks, the food didn’t feel fresh, not really tasty, and they have the two bad habits of every restaurant:
1- over season the meat with sauce and spices to hide the fact it tastes funny
2- overcharge you with extra things you didn’t ask for
Our Valentine’s Day experience at Batik was very disappointing due to the service and lack of attention to detail, even though the food itself was tasty.
The first waiter we encountered didn’t speak any English; he simply checked our reservation, showed us to our table, and then completely ignored us. We had to flag down another waitress just to be served. Furthermore, there was not a single romantic touch on the table—no candle, no flower. I even had to ask for a candle myself, but we never received one. There was also no romantic music to suit the occasion. Although the theme of the evening was ‘questions about love,’ the staff had no idea what I was talking about when I asked. It felt as though the team was completely unprepared for an event of this caliber.
The most serious issue, however, was health safety. I explicitly stated in the reservation that my husband has a nut allergy and lactose intolerance. Despite this, he was served a dessert containing hazelnuts. Thank goodness I tasted it first! When I asked the waitress if it contained nuts, she replied, ‘I don’t know.’ She went to the kitchen to confirm, came back to say that it did indeed contain nuts, and then simply walked away without offering an apology or an alternative.
We waited for a while, thinking it was OBVIOUS they would bring something else, but I had to call her over again. Eventually, she brought a cheesecake (containing lactose), once again ignoring the medical restrictions we had communicated. We are used to much higher quality; for the price paid, this lack of professionalism and atmosphere is unacceptable.
