I asked for over-hard eggs, and my husband asked for medium, and both were watery, undercooked, and had a bad odor—the same odor the chips had. I can only describe the odor as some kind of chemical, like propane. I don’t know what that was. It felt unsafe to eat.
When I told the lady about my eggs, she was nice and remade them. When I cut open the egg again, it was watery, so for the third time the owner finally went and made them herself. She finally made them correctly. Unfortunately, the egg still had that weird chemical odor.
They’re so nice that you almost feel bad complaining, but that cook has to go. I looked around at other people who left, and they too left all their food behind. If the owner wants to keep the business, she needs a new cook. I feel like the parrilla they use to cook is dirty or they aren’t washing it correctly. It just tastes dirty and like they use it for all the foods. It was sincerely gross.
We spent 1 hour and 17 minutes there because of all the times they had to take the food back. I’ll never return despite the niceness and the great environment. I left feeling grossed out and sick to my stomach. The food looks good but tastes gross.
Oh, and when the bill came, they offered no discounts or complimentary items for our time. Forty-two minutes to get our food and a total of 1 hour and 17 minutes just to get bad food was too much. I’ll never return.
and the fresh ground coffe..
I ordered the sampler plate and swapped the menudo for pozole. Everything was delicious! The eggs were cooked perfectly to my liking, the chilaquiles had just the right amount of crunch, and the salsa had incredible flavor. The pozole was chef’s kiss so comforting and full of flavor.
My partner got the barbacoa plate and loved it too. The service was just as great super attentive and friendly. Our server, Janeth, was wonderful! She answered all our questions and even gave us lunch recommendations for next time. Definitely coming back! ❤️
