Great place for breakfast. Everything was just how I wanted it to be. Steak and eggs are really good here. They also have a gift shop here with native american items plus historic route 66 items.

We love this place and stop in every time we travel South. The food is awesome for any meal, including breakfast/brunch. Photos of this morning’s terrific menu. Service is attentive and welcoming. Atmosphere is original with a gift shop of lovely unique artisinal items of the area’s cultural crafts. Definitely highly recommended for any traveler’s on Route 66.

Silver Moon Café in Santa Rosa, New Mexico serves seriously good homemade food. The star of the show is their giant smothered burrito, wrapped in a fresh, soft homemade tortilla and loaded with eggs, seasoned potatoes, sausage, and bacon. It’s topped with a rich green chile that steals the spotlight — spicy, flavorful, and clearly made from scratch. I added cilantro and onions for an extra kick, and the combination was perfect. The flour tortillas are warm and buttery, the potatoes are seasoned just right, and that green chile ties it all together. It was so good I immediately added Silver Moon Café to my Google Maps favorites. Extremely good coffee and excellent customer service.

We stopped by this restaurant while traveling through New Mexico. The service was friendly, but the food didn’t quite meet our expectations. The dishes lacked the bold flavor we’re used to with Tex-Mex, and the use of pozole grains instead of rice wasn’t our favorite. They serve Starbucks coffee, which was a nice surprise, but unfortunately it wasn’t hot. The place was pretty busy, so it was a bit hard to catch our waitress’s attention. Overall, it’s a nice spot with potential, just not quite what we were hoping for in terms of flavor and experience.

We ordered the sampler appetizer and the spicy shrimp and the chicken fajita salads for carry out . None of the items were as described in the website. Both the chicken and shrimp were well seasoned and tasty.

The sampler had fried cheese, fried zucchini and fried onion petals, there were no tequila poppers or fried mushrooms or artichoke spinach dip with tortilla chips. The chicken salad had no cheese or salsa, but a lot of cucumber and red onion. The shrimp salad also had a lot of veggies, not included in the description.

Overall, the food was fine, but it was annoying to get items that were different than expected.

We stumbled onto this little gem and had one of the best breakfast of our 8,000 mile trip. Delicious tamales and chorizo skillet. YUM YUM. The atmosphere was hometown and friendly. There is a little shopping area inside where you could pick up some local goodies. It was reasonably priced, the service was good, and you felt like one of the gang even though we are from Florida. Highly recommend the stop, plus an added benefit is getting to drive on a piece of Route 66!

We waited for seating but looked around in the little store portion which had a good selection of things. The buzzer system was a little off when we were called for a table. Good food portion size. Prices were decent given current economy. Food tasted good and presented well. Waitress was friendly. The Restaurant was pretty busy and food took a long time to come. The kids drinks were empty and not refilled between the end of our chips and salsa and our food delivery twenty minutes later. We were there for over an hour. We had already started eating before I took pictures. A double rainbow greeted us from the passing storm as we left.

If you’re passing through Santa Rosa, this is a good place to stop and grab some food and a beer. Ive been to Silver Moon a few times now. Last trip, lunch was amazing, they did a fantastic job. I went back for dinner and drinks, but they missed the mark.. i’ll give them the benefit of the doubt though and say I did come in pretty late and ordered right before the kitchen closed.

As for the atmosphere, very cool spot, great gift shop, and their fudge is outnof this world good.

Know going in, its NOT a full bar, so dont expect high end drinks. Thr Margaritas hit then spot, the beer is cold, and the staff is friendly.
