We stopped by here during our road trip and had a wonderful experience. The service and food were excellent. We ordered the yaki noodles and udon, and both were delicious. The sashimi was also very fresh. We’ll definitely be coming back!

What a disappointment. The pork katsu (in a bento box) was dry and too thin. The shrimp tempura didn’t taste like shrimp. I’m not sure what it was. The gyoza and plum wine were ok. We expected it to taste like Japan. It did not.

I often travel through North Platte when I go to visit my family. Tonight I was staying at a nearby hotel so I decided to try Tempura because I was in the mood for some sushi. I arrived about 8:55 PM and they close at 9:30 PM on Thursday nights. When I arrived, the restaurant tables were kind of in disarray as it looked like they must’ve had a big dinner rush. Later I heard a server talking to another table saying they had a late rush tonight apparently. The tables were all cleaned up during the time I was sitting there. I ordered the tempura appetizer and the super dragon roll. The service was amazingly quick, especially considering how many people were still in the restaurant. I received my appetizer very quickly – like I was shocked to get it so fast! It’s been a long time since I’ve had some tempura and theirs was very good. My roll came out, almost just as fast. It was good but kind of dry for me because it had so much tempura flakes on it. I guess I somehow missed that in the description. I was wishing I had ordered the sashimi or a roll with just raw slices of tuna on it. As I kind of had enough tempura with the appetizer. The people who work there were all very friendly and working very hard. I was surprised arriving so late and seeing so many people still coming into the restaurant and it sounded like they were still getting several to go orders on the phone as well. Clearly, this place does a lot of business. They even offer up some free dessert of green tea ice cream. Don’t pass it up as it was quite good! I will definitely be back here again to try more of their food. I think I was overwhelmed by their menu because they have so many items. It was hard to make a choice! It would definitely be a good place to go with friends and order lots of different things to share! Sadly, I was traveling by myself so I couldn’t eat much more than what I ordered. I actually left some on the plate, because I was so stuffed. If I had been at home, I would’ve taken it to go with me.

Love the staff here. It was very busy when we had dinner here and the food understandably took awhile but we were OK with that because we want a lot of turnover in a sushi place and this is clearly the place to be. The food was good and reasonable priced. Some of the special rolls were a bit saucy to our taste but yummy. Definitely on our list to return. Cute and clean.

The food was pretty good, and suitable for vegetarians and vegans. It was made and served hot quickly, and the owner and staff are all very friendly and helpful. If you want Japanese in North Platte, this is where to go. The koi are the most darling critters I’ve ever seen! They’re so cute.

Tasty food with a sizable menu. Service was helpful and friendly. The decorations were cheerful, and it was fun to see the koi pond. We got the Bento box with 3 choices and a salmon sushi roll. All the food was tasty! The green tea ice cream was a nice finish.

The food was exceptional. Everything was beautifully presented, and tasted delicious. The service was great, friendly and attentive. We arrived as they opened at 11 am on a Thursday, and within 15-20 minutes the place was packed. This is obviously a very popular restaurant.
We live a couple hours from North Platte, and only go there occasionally. So glad we decided to have lunch at Tempura. The two of us ordered two appetizers and two sushi rolls to share. We had avocado balls and jalapeno bullet, the Lincoln roll and the North Platte. All with hot green tea, and followed by complimentary green tea ice cream and a fortune cookie.
A wonderful treat making our long drive for errands well worth the trip. Can hardly wait til next time to try other menu items. It was hard to choose, so many options that sound very good!

Was on the road for hours. Stopped in looking for something that wasn’t fat food. Honestly, we didn’t expect much, but turns out to be great. The sushi was good, the service was great, and they finished off our night with delicious green tea ice cream. Worth a stop!
