f you’re exploring dining options at the iconic Mall of America in the Twin Cities area, Twin Cities Grill is a standout you won’t want to miss.
Twin Cities Grill was especially nice during my visit. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between upscale and comfortable — it feels polished without being pretentious. It’s a great spot whether you’re taking a break from shopping or planning a more intentional night out.
I ordered the New York strip with fried onions, and you truly cannot go wrong with it. The steak was cooked perfectly, tender and full of flavor, with a beautifully seared exterior. The fried onions added just the right amount of crunch and savory richness, complementing the steak without overpowering it. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared.

This meal was a lot better than i expected! The tenderloin tips were cooked exactly to my liking and the sauce that came with it was delicious. I also enjoyed my espresso martini. The only downside was the complimentary bread wasn’t very good, it tasted frozen and stale. The waiters were very friendly but when i asked a question about a certain dish they couldn’t give me an answer.

I normally never write long reviews, but this experience at Twin City Grill deserves a very honest one. I work for a major airline, and because of that I have been fortunate enough to travel all over the world and taste food from many different cultures. I understand how hard it is to compete with high quality restaurants, so I usually keep my expectations realistic and I rarely complain. This time was different.

We ordered the beef stroganoff, the spinach dip, and the baked pasta. To keep it simple, the food was extremely disappointing. The beef stroganoff had absolutely no flavor at all. It tasted like someone boiled meat in water or microwaved it and then put it on a plate. It was one of the worst dishes I have tried. The baked pasta tasted like Chef Boyardee mixed with horchata. The only good thing was the spinach dip, which was actually very good. Everything else was a letdown.

I want to praise our waiter because he was the only positive part of this experience. He was friendly, honest, and understanding from the beginning. We were joking around, having personal conversations, and he made us feel welcome. He recommended the beef stroganoff, so when I told him it tasted awful I insisted that he try it himself. He did, and even he said it tasted bad and not the way it should. He also told the chef to try it, and the chef agreed that it was incorrect. That alone confirms this was not just my wife and I being picky. The dish was genuinely prepared wrong.

What made the experience even worse was the assistant manager, Anayeli. She approached our table in a passive aggressive way that startled my wife. Her attitude was the only thing more unpleasant than the food. She came over saying I did not like anything, which was not true. I had to stop her and correct her because I specifically said I liked the spinach dip, I liked the bread, and even the water tasted decent. The only dish I asked to be addressed was the beef stroganoff, which both the waiter and the chef confirmed was not right.

I explained that the baked pasta was not her fault, since I do not like ricotta and the menu lists it. I did not send it back because I believe in not wasting food. Even with that, the baked pasta still tasted off, but I never asked for it to be replaced. The second I told her that I was still paying for it, she walked away without saying anything. That reaction made it obvious that she cared only about the money and not the customer experience.

On top of all that, the entire time we were there, we kept hearing employees complaining about not getting help and feeling overwhelmed. It created a tense and toxic atmosphere. When the work environment is so negative that customers can feel it, something is seriously wrong with management.

This was one of the most uncomfortable dining experiences I have had. The waiter was amazing, and he deserves recognition for his honesty and professionalism. Unfortunately, the food and the management made the visit unforgettable in the worst way. I hope the restaurant reads this and makes changes, because it could be much better with the right leadership and quality control.

Where do you begin?! We stopped in between lunch and dinner today for the first time ever. Our service from the start was great but our server, Robert (goes by J) was above and beyond in every sense. Friendly, energetic, & knowledgeable he put me on an off menu chop/cherry demiglaze that was superb. Our visit was reminiscent of a time when it was exciting to eat out (we eat out extremely often) and felt like an experience. The food, drink (blackberry manhattan) and even a birthday dessert (wife’s birthday month) were 5 stars from start to finish. Thank you, J!

Immediate seating for our group of 2. Attentive staff, yummy food! We had our wedding reception here years ago, and out on a date today and decided to stop in for lunch. We split the famous meatloaf that we served our wedding guests, It is still delish!

While the MOA has a lot of restaurant options, Twin Cities Grill is easily in my top three. The service is fast and the food is great. Overall, it’s a solid place to stop by for lunch or dinner if you happen to be on the first floor.

Nicholas was wonderful! Attentive, but not too much, and he noticed I mentioned a hotel room when I talked about dessert to go, so he threw in some plastic silverware!

The TC Grill is a must-stop each year when I’m in town m (for the Almond-Crusted Walleye) and it didn’t disappoint (and that cheddar butter and rolls! ). Great food AND great service!

Came for the Walleye Fishfry and wasn’t disappointed. Fresh fish freshly fried – delish! We also had the Walleye Fish Sandwich- also excellent. Good service. Fine ambience if you like wood paneled walls and old time feel.
