Absolutely loved our pizzas for a late lunch at Mother! We got the boscaiola and massimo, both were amazing! The dough was top knotch, perfectly crunchy, chewy, and flavorful. The toppings were perfect! The drinks were great too! Highly recommend for a nice quick meal!

Mother in the Meatpacking District makes really delicious pizza. They bake it in a wood-fired oven, the leopard spotting is nice, and the toppings themselves are good. This is a 4 out of 5 pizza for me, and as always when I talk about pizza, it comes down to the dough. Always the dough.
And I have to say, in this case, the dough was top-notch. Really good. Classic Neapolitan style, nice leopard spotting, great flavor, light and airy, very digestible. This is exactly the kind of dough a lot of places struggle to get right. Usually it’s too cakey, too dense, too thin, or just off in some way. Here, the dough was honestly really well done.
That said, this is where it fell a bit short for me. Even though the toppings themselves were good, the pizza was wet on top. Like, properly wet. There was a noticeable amount of liquid on the plate, and I didn’t like that at all. I don’t know if it was cooking time or something else, but the wetness really turned me off, and that’s why I can’t give this a full score.
Service, however, was really, really good. The woman serving us was friendly, smiling, accommodating, and made us feel welcome. Just genuinely great service. The atmosphere is also very nice, both inside and outside. The layout of the restaurant is good, and the open kitchen is beautiful.
All of that easily adds up to a strong experience. If it weren’t for the wet toppings, this would have been a 5 out of 5 for me. I would still come back, no doubt about that, but because of that one issue, this is a 4 out of 5.

“Probably” the worst pizza in Copenhagen!
We had ordered starters (“for sharing”) and 4 different pizzas. Nothing good to say about any of those we got. How can people drive business like that?!!

Excellent pizza, super fast service. We had appetizers, pizza and salad. Pizza burrata, ‘nduja and prosciutto were our favorites. The pinot grigio went great with the food.
The pepperoni & pepperoni pizza was not what we expected, the pepperoni was sank in tomato and cheese, we usually like it crispy and sitting on top of other ingredients. Luckily we had enough food and everybody was happy with the meal

We called in for a pizza, on a friend’s recommendation. We chose the Margherita, to share between two. The pizza was extremely hot, with delicious fresh ingredients and a crispy pizza oven base. The meal was superb, we could definitely return here!

I recently visited Mother in Kødbyen, and overall, it was an excellent experience. The standout for me was definitely their cheese pizza, which was rich, creamy, and full of flavor without being overwhelming – a perfect balance that really showcased the quality of their ingredients. The pepperoni pizza, while decent, felt a little underwhelming in comparison. It wasn’t bad by any means, but it lacked the same punch and excitement that the other pizzas delivered. That being said, what truly elevated all of the pizzas was their incredible dough. It had the perfect texture – airy on the inside, with a beautifully charred crust that gave it that authentic wood-fired character. It’s the kind of dough you can happily eat on its own.
It is on the pricier side, which means you naturally expect a high level of quality – and for the most part, Mother delivers on that. Combined with its lively, casual setting in Kødbyen, it’s a great spot for anyone who appreciates well-made, Italian-style pizzas with an unforgettable crust.

Despite the restaurant being almost empty, we waited an unnecessarily long time before getting a table. Once seated, no waiter came over to take our order until we actively flagged someone down. When we finally did get service, the waiter seemed neither particularly friendly nor interested, which set a rather unwelcoming tone.
The pizzas were undeniably good – fresh, flavorful, and with a nice charred crust – but the lack of attentiveness and warmth from the staff made it hard to truly enjoy the visit. Sadly, even with great pizza, it wasn’t the kind of dining experience I’d look forward to repeating.

The pizza and all the food is very good here. My favorite is pizza Massimo, with roast potatoes, organic sausage and pesto.

Amazing food! Like many of the other reviews mentioned, the service was completely terrible. Items ordered and never received. Would have definitely ordered another beer had the server ever checked in. Could not flag down for the check so eventually had to pay at door. Not being a picky American, I was with a Dane who said even for Copenhagen, the service was terrible.
