This BBQ spot offers some of the BEST customer service thanks to Gene and his amazing crew. It was quite busy when we showed up, but we didn’t have to wait very long to put our order in. There were a few indoor and outdoor tables for seating so we snagged one before they filled up. The menu had a variety of items to choose from and everything looked so good. You can literally smell all of the smoky flavors lingering throughout the restaurant.
We decided to try a couple of their combo meat platters. I ordered the 1 meat – 2 sides combo with the St. Louis ribs, Not boxed Mac-n-Cheesy, and the Bloody good potato salad. My husband got the 2 meat – 2 sides combo with the Sliced brisket, Sausage, Mac-n-Cheesy, and the Dirty Dirty beans. Our food came out with some pickled veggies and toast which was a nice incentive I wasn’t expecting to get. Out of everything we ate today, the ribs were my absolute favorite. The BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy which balanced well with the richness of the meats. The brisket was good with a bit of fat on it and the sausage had a thicker casing which gave it some extra chew. The mac-n-cheesy was cooked perfectly and it had a nice creamy texture. The potato salad paired wonderfully with the smorgasbord of savory meats and I couldn’t be happier with the overall experience.

From the moment you walk into SMKD BBQ, the staff makes you feel genuinely welcome. The service here is outstanding, and a big part of that is the owner, Gene. He’s there every time I visit and is always a pleasure to talk to. He’s friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what he’s built. They truly care about their customers and consistently treat us right.
The food is exceptional and easily far outshines the restaurant that previously occupied this space. Everything we’ve tried has been top-notch. Went to SMKD BBQ today for lunch and boy am I glad we did!
First of all, you’re greeted by the huge smoker in front of the restaurant, producing the amazing smell of smoked BBQ before you even enter. You can place an order through a tablet near the entrance or with the friendly employees at the register.
We had the brisket, fries, chopped cabbage, burnt ends and sausage. EVERYTHING was great! The brisket was tender and flavorful, but I have to say that sausage had so many layers of flavor, it may have been my favorite! They also have a few home made sauces, a tangy bbq sauce, a spicy bbq sauce, and a white sauce that I would say is a type of ranch, but way better!
Will definitely be going back to try more items, but it will be hard not to reorder more of everything else as well!

Upon arrival, the girl at the counter was super friendly and genuinely seemed to be happy to welcome us.
She gave us great recommendations and took the time to answer all our questions.
The atmosphere was clean, welcoming, and the whole setup is such a lively vibe. They have plenty of outdoor seating as well, even outside, the lights and the huge smoker really add to the ambience. Nice !!!

We have ordered: the brisket which was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Definitely a must try! The meat was tender and full of flavor, and the sauces were unique and tasty.

Our fries were home made and you can definitely taste the difference. Dirty Beans were EXCELLENT sides.

So we had a group – but we ordered A LOT of food so we could try everything and have leftovers. So don’t judge but we had: appetizers of burnt ends, pig candy and cornbread. All three delicious and well cooked with amazing smoky flavor on the meat. We had brisket, salmon, pulled pork, pastrami sandwich, (ribs weren’t available because it was too early and they don’t rush ribs). We had sides of Mac and cheese, Brussel sprouts, beets & carrots, kugel, cole slaw, and potato salad. zero complaints about the mains and sides at all. So delicious. Everyone was delighted with their pick. I liked the brisket (ask for fatty brisket) best. My wife had St Louis ribs and loved them. Our friends had pork sandwich and French dip. They both gave it’s 10 out of 10
Good size servings, so we were all stuffed and brought home leftovers
And, the best part was the service. They were all patient and answered my thousand questions.
One of the gals came to our table just as our friend was ready to take a bite of his sandwich and said “stop, don’t eat that”. She noticed that his order said “no cheese” and that sandwich had cheese. She brought him a new one…. How cool was that!
And the best of all…. Gene. I posted his photo here. He was stopping at every table and made us feel very welcome. Our friends told him it was my birthday and suddenly he had a dessert with a candle for me.

I ordered burnt ends with the ube cornbread and mac and cheese. The meat was smoky, crispy, and fatty just like I wanted and expected. The mac and cheese could have been a bit more flavorful, but maybe it’s because I prefer it cheesy vs creamy; next time I’ll try the potato salad. The cornbread was wonderful! Somehow it was like if butter mochi and cornbread had a baby.
I’m happy they had a diet canned soda option. I got the Diet Dr Brown’s Black Cherry which is also yummy.
I will for sure come back and spread the word. Gene (one of the business partners) even came around greeting everyone and building connection, and he got my to-go container for me, too. Highly recommend.

Love the casual atmosphere and friendly staff. There is some major talent working in this place! Everything is fresh, delicious, and the meats are all tender. Just enough smoked flavor without being over powering. The corn bread and honey butter has such a great flavor. We loved the brisket, Mac n cheese, beans, burger, fries, chicken, and ribs. We will be back to try the brunch and some desserts. Look for Gene. He will make your day!

Best customer service. BBQ is the best I have tasted in a long time. You have to get your order in before the meat is gone. You have to get the fried apple pie. Its like a McDonald’s pie with steroids and it’s fried. Come here early and leave filled happy and have leftovers maybe.
