Five stars for the overall experience at Beehive Café. The place has a really cool atmosphere—great energy, laid-back vibe, and the blues music playing in the background made breakfast feel more like an experience than just a meal. It’s the kind of spot where you want to linger a bit and enjoy the morning.

The staff were fantastic. Our waiter was excellent across the board—attentive, friendly, and never rushed us. We never felt pressured to order, eat, or turn the table, which made the whole visit feel relaxed and welcoming. The team was also extremely accommodating with our seafood allergy concerns, which we really appreciated.

Drinks were high quality and clearly made with care, and overall the food was good. The only minor miss for us was the French toast—it leaned more toward a lemon cake texture than traditional toast. Some people might love that, but it wasn’t exactly what we expected.

That said, the atmosphere, music, great drinks, and genuinely excellent service made this an easy five-star stop. Definitely a place we’d come back to when we’re in the area.

This restaurant has a great vibe with live music and delicious food. My friends and I went for brunch while they were playing live jazz, which really set the tone and elevated the whole experience. They have live music every day, but the jazz is definitely my favorite.

The space is fairly large with two floors, the second floor houses the stage and still has plenty of seating. We kicked things off with some tasty mimosas and cocktails, then shared the pecan sticky bun and coffee cake. The pastries are on the smaller side, best for sharing between two people, so we ordered both to split among the five of us.

For our mains, we had the eggs Benedict, American breakfast, and buttermilk biscuits with gravy. All the dishes were hearty, well portioned, and really hit the spot. Service was quick and attentive, which we really appreciated.
Overall, it’s a great spot, perfect for catching up with friends or even a casual date!

Hungry after seeing a show next door.
Was busy, but the door guy was friendly. We were mainly there for the food. They had good live music friendly and speedy staff.
Food was good.
I get a little cautious at times trying new places, so went for the burger and chicken.
No disappointments.
If and when I’m back down in this area, would definitely come back!

Favorite date night location in Boston. Live music, great drinks, good apps if you’re looking for a nightcap or enjoy live music that matches the room.

Have the option for two different seatings, either drinks and apps in front of the stage for the live music (if seating is available, first come first serve) and seating farther away if you want a real dinner. Seating in front of the music can be quite loud, but you’re in front of a speaker and band so you get what you came for!

Drinks range in the $15-20 range each, but are great so if you’re okay paying for quality you’re in luck. Apps reasonably priced for something to pick at, dinner on the higher end but overall still expected for the venue.

I have been to Beehive many times for drinks and I have always loved the cocktails, ambiance, and rotating musical acts. Tonight I tried dinner at Beehive for the first time and unfortunately I do not share that same sentiment for the food. They offered a $110 prix fix menu for Valentine’s Day and while there are many Boston restaurants that do this, Beehive’s was a bit pricier and of much poorer quality. Our rack of lamb was ordered medium rare but all three chops came out medium-well to well done. Our short rib bordelaise was served bone dry with not a drop of sauce on the plate. The potatoes with the short rib were supposed to be whipped but instead we were served parboiled potatoes that were not finished cooking. The arancini were clearly mass produced and kept warm under a heat lamp as made evident by the dried out prosciutto at the bottom of the dish. The desserts were fine but nowhere near what you’d expect in terms of quality for this price point. I understand we might pay a bit extra for the cost of the musical performance, but this food is just not worth it. Even if the above mistakes weren’t made it still would’ve been a stretch to say this menu was worth $110. If you’re planning a night out in the south end your money would be better spent at one of the many other restaurants in the surrounding area. Consider just stopping in at Beehive for drinks and a show afterwards.

Behhive Restaurant – The food is good, but the back ribs are from another world—absolutely delicious !
The ambience couldn’t be better if you love jazz, and the live music creates a wonderful atmosphere. It even helps to mask the occasional small lapses in staff attention. The team is great, just sometimes a bit overwhelmed by the number of customers.

Nice service, great vibe with live music and welcoming atmosphere. I would suggest asking for a table that faces the closest to the music (if that is possible?)

We shared the gnochhi and fish and it was delicious. We had space for dessert and went for ice cream to a place nearby (Picco).
Beehive is a great place for a date or when you have people visiting from out of town!
