As a Chicago native, this beef sandwich made me feel like I was back home again
Very delicious, authentic Italian beef!
10/10 highly recommend
We had heard a bit of not so great noise lately bring spun about by someone and figured we would go and give an honest unbiased, uncompensated opinion. You know, give the people a fair shake, not one with anything at all possibly clouding it.
It bears mentioning that the road adjustments the city made did not do ANY favors to the businesses on 41. In fact, quite the opposite with impossible u-turns with all the traffic, and that darn divider in the middle of 41. But you can turn at the light and come through the back of parking lot next door which honestly, is probably safer, this way the traffic doesn’t run up your back end when you’re turning in. I would venture to say the road design has cost everyone lots of business and maybe even continued existence. Enough said there.
Let’s get to the good stuff, the FOOD! We ordered an Italian Beef, an Italian Sausage, and the combo “sangwich” and an order of their Italian Stalllions. We planned an evening of football and “BEEF”!
Boy, did we have it! I will tell you out of the 3 of us, I am the whimpy one, I can’t do the hot stuff. But the guys can tolerate it just fine, in fact, they love it!
Ok, so let’s get to it.
The Italian stallions- crispy, crunchy and delicious.
The Italian Beef, perfectly dipped in the “gravy”, which makes the entire sangwich, the giardiniera was a bit hot for me. He could have asked for mild, but keeping it more on the spicy side keeps me from eating his sangwich. But I did taste it, and the crazy thing is, it’s kind of an addicting heat with lots of flavors.
The combo Sausage and Beef with sweet peppers and mozzarella cheese. A fabulous sangwich. I can’t believe my son ate the entire thing!
The Italian Sausage was awesome, I was a little nervous about it because I don’t care for green peppers. But I went all in with peppers and mozzarella. I don’t know what type of green peppers they are but they were really good. I love Italian sausage and this was so good, the best I’ve had in a while, not huge blobs of fat or teeth jarring bits of who knows what. It was really good.
Overall opinion, it was a great meal. Excellent football, sports day or lazy day I dont want to cook, or event food, I would recommend pool party where people can just jump in and wash off, it was gravy dripping goooooood! I think I read they cater, hmmmm, think think think, what can we cater?

Long live Jimmie The Beef Guy!
Stopped by around 11:45am on a Friday. This place was busy but clean and neat. You must order at the counter as they do not have table service. In fact, there are very few tables inside to sit down at. There are a lot of stand-up counters and a couple high top tables or there are outside tables on the front deck area to sit at. The order line moved quickly for as busy as they were. They seemed very organized, and it did not take them long to call our order number so we could pick up our food. We sat out on the deck area to eat our food which I liked. We both got the Italian Beef Sandwich with Sweet Peppers and mine had Mozzarella on it with a side order of Fries to share. Our sandwiches were stuffed full of Beef and topped with lots of Sweet Peppers. Mine had the Mozzarella through out the entire sandwich. One thing that’s special about these sandwiches is most times Roast Beef is too dry for me to eat it but not these as there is some kind of Au jus or Gravy on it and even the ends of the sandwich are dipped in the same kind of Beef Au jus or Gravy. They call this wet, and it took these sandwiches to the next level. They were so tasty and flavorful, but they are a little messy to eat so make sure you have plenty of napkins available. You can get them dry, but I would advise you to get them wet you will not be sorry. Our Fries came in a large bag and there was plenty of them for both of us and they were very good. All our food was hot tasty and plenty for the both of us. Their menu is limited, and prices are average but they do charge you extra for the Sweet Peppers or Mozzarella. You have to give Jimmy The Beef Guy a try and I grantee you will go back just like I want too. I must give this place 4 out of 5 stars.

My wife and I have permanently relocated here from northern Illinois, about 50 miles northwest of Chicago. Chicago style italian beef sandwiches are like Chicago style pizza – very hard to find outside of the Chicago area. Until now!! We passed the Beef Guy several times since we moved here and finally made it there and it is on our regular rotation now. Just like up north, it’s a small place with a few tables inside and some out front and a counter for ordering. The menu is simple – Italian Beef, Italian Sausage, Beef and Sausage Combo, Steak and a Maxwell Polish. Add-ons include sweet peppers, giardiniera and cheese. Italian beef egg rolls, Cup of Cheese and Fries are available sides. It was fun to see a sign telling non-Chicagoans hot to pronounce giardiniera – Jar-Din-Air. Our choice was easy. My wife ordered the Italian Beef ($13.00) with Sweet Peppers ($0.75). I ordered the same Italian Beef with Giardiniera ($0.75). Our counterperson said the French Fries ($4.00) would be plenty for the two of us to share so we got that also. Bottled Water runs ($1.50). It was a nice sunny day, so we sat outside and the umbrella made for welcomed shade. They called our name and joyful anticipation peaked. The Beefs were double wrapped in paper, just like in Chicago, and the aroma was mouth watering. Hefty sandwiches for sure which felt like they were slightly ‘dipped’. Oh the flavor! Just like Chicago!! The toasted French bread roll absorbed much of the juice and held up from start to end. The giardiniera is the hot variety, but not too hot. Indeed, the fries are plenty for two to share. And just to make it more like Chicago, they stream Chicago’s own 97.1 fm, WDRV, The Drive, classic rock station inside and out. Great food, great radio, great place!
