Reviews
We enjoyed the food, but the service was disappointing. The young woman at the front was polite and helpful, which we appreciated, but the kitchen was loud and disorganized. My order, scheduled for pickup at 8:38 PM, sat in the back for over 20 minutes before I was called. The meatloaf was burnt, likely due to the kitchen being distracted, the carrots were bland, shrimp and trout were cold, and the pinto beans had clearly been sitting too long. Cracker Barrel used to offer reliable service—this experience fell short.
My server Ciara is the blueprint for dedicated and hand-crafted hospitality. She oozes charm and warmth. It is a pleasure to see her smile back at you.
The food isn’t what we come for, but it’s definitely the icing on the cake – filling, fresh, and affordable. The portions at a Cracker Barrel are undeniable bang for buck deals.
I feel that if there is grace to be given anywhere in the establishment, it’s with those cooks.
My food was excellent. I have seen the reviews where the food wasn’t. That being said, I want to reiterate that my food was EXCELLENT. If the complaints are truly meant to construct better results from the people receiving them, the job is being done! They have proven in my food their ability and desire to provide the best for EVERYONE HERE. I don’t know a single person who WANTS to do a bad job. A little grace and patience will evidently go a long way. If we give the chance to be great, they have already proven their capable of it, and they want nothing less than to provide it.
Got seated immediately; the restaurant was about 50% capacity.
Got our drinks (sweet tea) and placed our dinner order, to include onion petals appetizer.
I ordered chicken fried steak, my wife ordered the two piece chicken dinner with a salad.
She got her salad within 10 minutes, but it also had RAW bacon in it.
Took over 30 minutes to get the onion petals, and they were lukewarm at best.
When our meals finally made it to the table, we were closing in on one hour.
Her plate was swimming in country gravy, which she had not ordered, and everything on my plate was ice cold.
At that point, my wife got up and left, I asked for a manager, registered the complaints about the food and slowness, and walked out.
If you can’t have prompt service when the dining area is at or below 50% capacity, then your place needs help. I’ll also add that two other tables got seated after us, yet received their food well before we did.
Needless to say, we will NOT return to this particular restaurant.
To the manager of this store- what a disgrace. Seriously. The fact that you couldn’t even take the time out of your day to come and talk to my wife about her poorly made food is absolutely ridiculous. That’s not a way to run a business AT ALL. I’ll also add pics so you all can see how horribly her food was made. Yall need to get it together before you’re the next Cracker Barrel that goes under.
