Authentic Florida Seafood and Steak Restaurant . Reminisce about Florida Fish Camps along the Halifax river , been in existence since 1940s in some form or fashion. Down the Hatch was born from local fishermen fishing and coming back with fresh fish and someone said lets fry up some fish!

This place is an absolute gem — a truly amazing local secret. Let me start this special post by saying the food was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. We enjoyed the fish of the day (Blackened Trigger with Teriyaki Green Beans), the Fried Shrimp Basket with roasted potatoes, the Fried Grouper with fries, and the Hatch Shipwreck. The fish is caught fresh daily, and we have never had a bad item here.

The customer service was spectacular. Thank you Liz!

The atmosphere is stunning. You can choose the outdoor patio bar (which I highly recommend if the weather is right) or dine inside, which is equally amazing. The waterfront views are breathtaking, and we’ve seen dolphins swimming every single time we’ve visited. It’s always a nice, relaxing, and wonderful evening.

An amazing place for any special occasion — like my daughter’s ENGAGEMENT!!!

I’ve been in the U.S. for about a year now, and I can honestly say Down the Hatch is my favorite restaurant I’ve ever been to in Daytona.

From the moment we were seated, our server was amazing — genuinely happy, full of energy, and so attentive. He made sure our drinks were always filled, checked in without hovering, and made the whole experience feel personal. You can tell he really loves what he does, and that kind of service changes everything.

And the food? Absolutely perfect. The Trigger Parmesan was incredible — crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The Fish Tacos were just as impressive, fresh and full of flavor. Everything came out hot and beautifully presented.

If you’re looking for a place with great vibes, great food, and people who truly make you feel welcome, this is it. Down the Hatch made me feel at home in a new country — and that says a lot.

This place had an amazing sunset view. I sat on the patio next to the water. My waitress was awesome and attentive. I ordered Mac and cheese bites. The came out cold in the center. When I called the waitress over she said “they’re cold aren’t they” so they know it’s a problems. I then got fish (mahi) tacos and that was okay. Potato chips were nice and crispy. That was really the only thing I really liked

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5

Down the Hatch in Ponce Inlet was a great experience. The atmosphere is relaxing with beautiful views of the water, and the whole place has a laid back coastal vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food came out fast and tasted great. It felt like a local spot that actually cares about giving customers a good experience. Overall, it was a really nice place and I would definitely go back.

Excellent service , the views of water and laid back atmosphere was nice. The cheeseburger a d fish tacos were delicious. The smoke fish dip and Parmesan oysters were tasty. Did not care for the Parmesan trigger fish, she crab soup, or the trigger linguine. The blackened scallops, fish, and shrimp plate was tasty!

I don’t usually leave reviews but this place was amazing. Our server Debbie was especially helpful, she gave us amazing recommendations and took care of us really well. You need to try the smoked oysters here they’re to die for. #askfordebbie

Beautiful spot right on the water. Fantastic food, fantastic menu. Plenty of seating inside and out. Placed a to-go order for 6 people – everything was included. The manager even came by to ask the host that the order was double checked for accuracy. Very large portions. The 1-lb fish sandwich was enough for 3 meals. The only item we ordered that I wouldn’t get again was the (out of season) fried oysters. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Smoked fish was a 1.. all mayo barely fish no smoke. Husband had Brisket tacos… they were a 7.. Great meat. Way too much sauce. Ambiance and service top notch but just DO NOT order the fish dip.
