We were going to make these comments only on the offered survey, but the website was in much the same condition as the restaurant today. So Goigle it is for the Kingsport location. We noticed several missing, small items initially. Out of Coke. Out of lemons. Then noticed our field greens lettuce was not only wilted but covered in dirt. Smelled like a dead mouse at the lettuce area, too. We noticed far fewer selections, learning later that the delivery truck (s) didn’t make it. What was available of our favourites seemed to have flavours that were “off,” including the cabbage which resonated a lot like the dead mouse I’d smelled earlier. Some items were tasty, like the catfish, and the Server was sweet and helpful. But where’s the white haired fella with a distinctive accent who calls out to the crew and keeps it all running like a machine!?! Y’all better not let him vacation too long. We hate y’all had a bad day today, and we’re not necessarily lost customers. But another chunk of change spent like that would be a crying shame. Hang in there.

Our waiter was very kind and always checked to see if we needed anything. But as far as everything else was not good. The food was cold did not have a good selection of food. If it wasn’t cold it was hard an uneatable.Had to wait to get steak because they would only cook 3 at time for like 30 people in the restaurant. I have never seen it so empty, but we will never be back that was a waste of our money.

I love the variety in selections and the only wait time -is my own.
Paying before eating is great. I wish more restaurants followed your lead.

Not too impressed! Too crowded, had a difficult time getting a clean plate and silverware management didn’t even offer a plastic plate. Finally about about 15 minutes after they brought clean plates out they didn’t have a place to sit down and eat waitress finally came by and whipped the table but they left a lot of dirty water on the table had to take a napkin and fint wiping it off. The restrooms were nasty. The bar don’t have as good food on it as it used to, they don’t keep it stocked up enough. I know this part is not Golden Carrol’s fault but it’s too crowded in there for it to be a functional restaurant. I can’t walk up to the bar without weaving in and around people constantly just trying to get what I want on my plate.

HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. SERVICE WAS AMAZING. THATS ABOUT IT. The food was either bland or over salted. Not at all worth the price. If they had put the same amount of thought in the food as they did the updates that would have been amazing. The breaded shrimp was doughy and raw in spots. The chicken was over cooked and dry. The sweet butter for the rolls does not exist anymore so the rolls were lack luster. There was nothing that was worth the almost 70 dollars we spent for 4 people NOT AT ALL WHAT IT USED TO BE. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED! We will NEVER visit here again.

There was some good and bad experience at this establishment, and I might as well start with the good.
To start off some of the food I had tired was amazing! Such as the Ham and shrimp. The restaurant was kept very clean at the buffet and the lobby and seating area as well! We got there and were greeted as soon as the door opened, no wait time, and our service was beyond amazing.

Now the issues we did find was a bit…off
To start off, some of the food was interesting and needed some work, I forgot if it was pumpkin or sweet potato pie, but it had way too much cinnamon that you couldn’t enjoy the flavors this pie had to offer. The mango ice was nothing but colored water, and the banana pudding was bland. The steaks needed better trimming, and it was warm, I had asked for a rare, and he had taken the steak that had been sitting beside him and tossed it on the grill to warm it up. The bathrooms, both male and female, had issues. The males restroom was nasty and filled the room with an aroma where it made you not want to eat when you returned. And in the female bathroom , a worker with an apron had walked out of the handy cap while a handy cap female was waiting for it, and washed her hands and left. Any worker with an apron should remove the idea to prevent cross contamination. When we asked to speak to a manager, he was very nice and understood the situation and said he would have a talk with the servers.

Would return again but would expect better next time.

I just went in and order a dozen rolls for my family to enjoy , but whoever pack these put all the bad and flat ones , some are hard as a rock and had to be thrown out not even edible , I couldn’t get ahold of the restaurant to even tell them because the phone line never will connect you to speak to someone ,this so mess up , just because I order it to go that how they treat their customers. I never had this experience before when I order rolls but this will be the last time I ever go there for anything

Came 45 minutes prior to close (our family had late plans- was starving) staff was exceptional despite being in the end phase of business. Everyone was kind, and the food was fresh and delicious! We left a few minutes early out of respect- but didn’t feel rushed to run out despite the late hour. Our family was very thankful for such a welcome experience and for delicious fresh buffet food!
