Luna mexican kitchen

-Ordered spicy pineapple drink, guacamole and chicken enchiladas.
-Got complimentary nachos on the side which were pathetic. Also the sauces that came with sucked.
-The guac was rather just plain smashed avocado without any onions, tomatoes, chilies, salt, pepper, etc. That’s not a guacamole.
-Chicken mole enchiladas were disappointing. Mole sauce had no spice or flavor. The inside of enchiladas was just plain unseasoned chicken and very dry. No side of corn. The whole thing felt like a slog to finish.
-the spicy drink was hella spicy if you are into it.

-the refried beans have lard in it which the waiter paid good attention to disclose which is something to note for the vegetarians.

-the ambience was good which is why the food was Also very expensive but not worth the money.

-The waitress who served us was nice and gave good service.

-very limited parking space so parking is hard to find.

Overall it’s just fancy westernised food and completely inauthentic. The food is very bland and flavorless. Will not return.

Come on now LUNA might be one of the best Mexican resturants we have had in years. Being raised around a Hispanic family in Kansas City Missouri I was pleasantly surprised when I found LUNA on the Michelin Guide for San Jose. It can’t be common to see a Michelin Mexican resturant so we had to try it!

We were visiting San Jose for ten days for the NWSL Championship and my birthday over Thanksgiving.

LUNA did not disappoint, we were seated relatively quickly (don’t go during busy hours and expect to be seated quickly). The staff was soooo friendly and helped us find dishes that fit our dietary requirements (dairy free cashew cheese sauce baby).

The drinks, the soup, the appetizers (unlike any other Hispanic resturant), the mains and even the dessert were to die for. LUNA rocked it!

LUNAS did not disappoint!
We visited based on a recommendation, and it lived up to every word. The chips and salsa were freshly made not your typical flavorless corn tortillas; they were tasty like homemade. I ordered the asada tacos, and my husband had the mole both were absolutely delicious.

The highlight of our visit was the exceptional service friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Our server, Luis M, was outstanding and made our experience even better. Many restaurants could learn a thing or two from LUNAS when it comes to hospitality.

Gracias for a wonderful lunch! We’ll definitely be returning and recommending this gem to others.

Every dishes that I ordered turned out to be great, including the pozole and the fajitas. The flavor is pretty spot on, the fajitas steak is juicy and tender. One thing I see that could be improved is probably more seasoning for the fajitas, but I am very pleased with the experience today.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We had a wonderful family dinner at Luna Mexican Kitchen. The food was amazing. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented, especially the grilled platter, salmon tostada, and elote. The atmosphere was warm and lively, perfect for spending time with family.

What made the evening truly special was the staff. I lost my ring right before we left, and they found it and made sure it got back to me. Their honesty and kindness meant so much and made the night unforgettable.

A beautiful place with delicious food and genuinely caring people. Highly recommend it for any family gathering or celebration.

I’m pretty sure this is now my favorite restaurant in San Jose. We happened onto it while visiting from Maryland. A beautiful mixture of healthy food and Mexican all wrapped in one. All of the food was delicious, especially the arugula and beet salad and my husband had the skirt steak bowl. I had the enchiladas suisas. The refried beans were especially phenomenal. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. We will definitely be back whenever we are in the area.

Came here since everyone was recommending or raving about this place. Unfortunately food is mid at best. The flavors doesnt seem like it has enough seasoning or bland, the sauces sucks and are way to watered down. I will say that the food is fresh though. Their chips, shrimp tacos were decent, but the star of the show was the horchata french toast, soft, fluffy with a light crunch and not too sweet, very tasty. Me and my cousins got the carnitas burrito, carne asada burito, the chicken soup, the steak bowl and shrimp tacos. Only thing on the menu that made me actually want to come back was the horchata french toast which exceeded my expectations. Other than that, its ok, do not recommend unless you just want to try. Prices were pretty expensive too.

Our family and I were there for early dinner before Maná’s concert, it was our first time at Lunas Restaurant. Nice ambiance and the waiter Octavio was very nice, respectful and fun. I really recommend their food, we order cochinita pibil, bacon wrapped shrimps, fried cauliflower, enchiladas, tamales, some drinks, champurrado and at the end my husband and I got café de la olla. Everything was delicious. I recommend this restaurant to everyone that wants to have a place to enjoy food and create good memories with your special someone. Sorry I forgot to take more pictures of the food but here they are, some photos of my bacon wrapped shrimps, fried cauliflower and café de la olla.
