The service was not good at all. The place was virtually empty and we were ignored by waitress multiple times, even after stacking our plates and waving her down. Mandatory valet which was frustrating considering the ease of parking here.
You can get a good meal here, but highly suggest ordering for pickup instead of dining in.
The service provided by the staff was commendable, with a friendly and professional demeanor displayed by all individuals encountered, from the host to our server. The food was served promptly, and our beverages were delivered swiftly.
Although I typically find live music to be disruptive during meals with colleagues, the entertainment provided that evening was enjoyable. The volume was slightly elevated, but not to the extent that it hindered conversation. The performer exhibited talent and sang a selection of classic songs that resonated with my generation.
The establishment is spacious, featuring both outdoor seating and a second floor. Additionally, valet parking is available for patrons who encounter difficulty in finding street parking.
I would highly recommend this establishment for a future gathering with my family. If the location were not a significant distance away, I would frequent this establishment more regularly.
Our food bill was $138, which after taxes and fees came to about $147. On top of that, the restaurant added an automatic 18% gratuity, bringing the total to around $172. We were not clearly informed about this ahead of time.
We left a $20 tip instead of the $22 shown, paying $170 total, which we felt was fair. Unfortunately, the waitress came back in front of everyone to ask for the $2 difference. This was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional.
When asked to explain the charge, she could not clearly explain it. I had to ask her to bring the bill back to show that a tip is not mandatory. Despite this, she still took the remaining change.
The issue here isn’t the money — it’s the lack of transparency and the way the situation was handled. Being confronted publicly over $2 left a very bad impression and took away from what could have been an otherwise normal dining experience.
I hope management addresses how service charges are explained and reminds staff that confronting customers over tips is not acceptable.
